Even though I own a lot of horror flicks on DVD, for some reason, nothing beats watchin' em on TV. Don't know why it is - it just is.

Halloween is the best holiday IMO. So awesome how many kids came around to the house this year, I guess daylight savings time and the unseasonly 70 degree weather was a big factor, but the little woman sent me out for more candy. Didn't see too many kids at first, but when I took the long way home, across the bridge? BOOM! Huge groups of them, and the little bastards are lucky I stopped at the STOP sign by my place where they ran back and forth a few times before finally committing to crossing in front of my car. Anyone who drives drunk/crunk/high on Halloween ought to be jailed, there's a lot of kids out there guys.
Sorry about the rant. Anyways, I love this time of year for the chance to see horror movies I've never seen before. A few days ago I caught the two sequels to The Omen. Good stuff.
But it left me wondering something. Tons of horror movies have evil people/things that are defeated by sure luck or creative usage of a tool shed. Horror movies inevitably have something evil as the villain. Why isn't the opposite of EVIL more of a presence? Why don't more movies have Good/love/faith/Gawd as an opposing force to the evil foe who (maybe) gets defeated? There are religious movies, sure, like Exocist, Omen, and The Wicker Man, but the Jedi-side loses, so what gives?

I mean, if you think about, evil is all the stuff you want to do, whereas good is all the things you think you should do. There really isn't much demand for a movie about Ned Flanders.
