You know, it's been a long time since I've actually REALLY liked an anime series. A VERY long time. In my opinion the only halfway decent anime we've had in the US in recent years have been Paranoia Agent (seemingly too cerebral for some), and Cowboy Bebop re-runs, seriously.
A year or two back people started to deliver the Bleach hype to me. I just kinda casually ignored it, it didn't seem of interest to me, and since it was in Shonen Jump, I figured it had been kiddyfied.
Well for once in my life I'm actually glad that I was OUTLANDISHLY wrong. This is really good stuff. They didn't mess up the manga TOO badly, I'm sure some of the naughtier language has been cut, but still you get damns and hells none the less, and the dubbed version that I catch on Adult Swim at like 2:00am is superb.
The art, character designs, music, and general story all completely reek of awesomeness and while I never thought I'd be able to love another anime, I've admittedly fallen hard for Bleach.
So I guess here's an offical Bleach appreciation/discussion thread.

I too am a big Otaku for Bleach, which I originally saw subtitled at my anime club.
I just want to add that Tatsuki is a far more interesting character than Orihime and should have been the main female character.... But Bleach is cool...

Last anime I could get into was Yu Yu Hakusho...
I think that says a lot.

I mean, she's cute, and she's a redhead, but she generally just seems to be there to ogle Ichigo and get almost killed by Hollows. Is there any spoiler-free way to tell me whether or not she ever does anything cool? Haha.

Funny. To me is just another boring shounen. What made you become a fan? It's just cool. I don't know, it has actual intrigue to it unlike some of the other properties out there right now. And characters that I can actually like rather than sit there and be annoyed by. It's easy to sympathize with Ichigo and he's actually a badass anyway. Sado is like, awesome, for a background character, I don't know, something about it just drew me in. I'm all about things involving souls of the dead and such though.

I usually hate animes, but man, I loved that show, especially Kuwabara.

Rukia is the main female character... How could I forget that?! Well I think you got what I mean anyway.

I just kinda started to slowly devolop a distaste for it, then I was finally exposed to Bleach after like god knows how long of it being pimped to me, and I just, iunno, connected. Kinda like how I connected with Initial D (subtitled non-americanized ruined version), it was an interesting story and had likable characters. Same thing here. That being said, Inuyasha still sucks. ;D
