In that he will get saddled with a racist gimmick and jobber mode like the talented Yoshi Tatsu did, or to an extent Kenzo Suzuki?
I was thinking back at Yoshi's debut, in which Sheldon Benjamin called him and acted all racist mode on him, and he beat Benjamin with just one kick, but then, yoshi became a punching bag/jobber. I know its tough tot hink this way, as Nakamura got great reaction in his two appearances, but he didnt appear this week, and something a podcast with JR and cornette hit me, JR says he thinks Nakamura has potential to be a main eventer, while Cornette said,. he didnt want to sound racist, but based on past track records with Vince and Dunn , Asians never gets pushed correctly, and falls into racist angles. Plus i have friends who are non NXT viewers, and their opinion of Nakamura was negative, saying "Is he doing a Japanese Micheal Jackson?" to "His character is gay, isnt he?" so to non nxt viewers, especially raw audience, he could fall flat.
what do you guys think?

Well, that's a colossal waste of money since they paid way more to get Shinsuke than either of those guys.

I think they should push the swagsuke thing. Call it swag style over strong style. Most casual fans have no idea what strong style is, and promoting it as swag style is a cool way to introduce. I'm sure it will piss off the IWC, but what's new?

If WWE is really going to blow main event money for a whole year before even bringing him to the main roster and then f*** up one of the best guys in the business with a sushi chef gimmick then the company deserves pretty much every decline it gets.

Nah, they clearly know they've got a potential big thing in Nakamura and I can't see them wrecking it too badly. Worst comes to worst I could see them making him boring and one-note, which is what he was in NXT anyway and he's insanely over despite it so whatever really.
That said it was pretty damn stupid to first thing on the main roster switch his trons and stuff to something more stereotypical.

OMG dont give vince and dunn ideas! The only proven method to get yourself pushed in the WWE is to negotiate an expensive entry level contract for yourself. See Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Mark Henry, Goldberg, etc.

The anniversary of the pearl harbor attacks lands on a Monday this year so WWE has enough time to turn Nakamura heel, move him to RAW and feed him to Reigns.

If the ball was going to drop on this, I feel it'd have happened already.
Besides, They haven't really been racist with Akira Tozawa so far. He's just a weirdo who is very intense, not in any way particular to being Japanese.

The past year and change for AJ Styles has probably far exceeded what anyone would have thought they would ever give him. WWE is more about flushing money down the drain through missed opportunities and fumbled follow-throughs than through bringing in a very expensive talent and just letting them waste away.

I find this kind of incredible. Like to me, Nakamura's entire shtick screams "The guy who is as cool as you think you are when dancing in the club on a night out". Factor in his whole badass aura and yeah, he's basically "Who you think you are when you're drunk". It is a long time since I've seen a wrestler with his sheer aura and presence. So yeah. WWE will probably blow it.

You do realize Nakamura's first two WWE Appearances alone have gotten more of a reaction than Kenzo Suzuki and Yoshi Tatsu's entire combined WWE Careers combined and maybe careers period?
Dude ain't bein' prepped for that shit, he's being prepped to be a megastar and probably the first Japanese World Champion in WWE.

Yeah I don't see this happening. Nakamura is a rarity to me, a Japanese star with no problems projecting charisma to an American audience. He has already been established as his current gimmick in WWE so I don't see how they would put him in some goofy stereotype gimmick. With that said, if some think he is being a bit swishy acting, maybe do a video profile with his wife and kids or something.

I'm sorry, I'm still stuck on Yoshi Tatsu and talented being together, what was the question?
Oh, yeah, Nakamura being treated like them. Zero chance. Mega star in a developing market for them that is a major signing and star for Triple H and currently on his brand, yeah he'll be fine.

They already gave him an introduction that makes it pretty clear they're gonna treat him as a big deal.

WWE is more about flushing money down the drain through missed opportunities and fumbled follow-throughs than through bringing in a very expensive talent and just letting them waste away. They did try to push him initially. But Vince realized he was probably really high and added an extra zero in his contract and did try to push him out. Like it was a 10 year 10 million dollar contract for a guy has a small ounce of fame and hasn't wrestled before. But Vince seems to always push guys who got big money contracts from the start and why wouldn't he? Like if I was paying top dollar for someone I would be pushing them and giving them all kinds of opportunites to make sure I'm not wasting my investment. That's another name I forgot to add. Alberto Del Rio. Twice...
