I think big part of Tye Dellinger is "Lovable Loser(well not loser, but he is not the best) with High Confidence".a.k.a he is a underdog Which is a big step up from simply"cocky heel thinks he is the best" It's a contrast that actually works and hasn't really been done before. 10 is more of a philosophy he believes in. He believes he has all the tools of being a 10 but he doesn't actually believes he's a 10 but he has all the confidence in the world he can achieve that goal. But he's never fully satisfied. It's like when the best sports player doesn't put himself over as the best and he's only good as his training and preparation. It's that same appeal with Dillinger like he has found that connection to connect with people. Which makes him extremely valuable asset that can't afford to be booked like garbage. You need perfect 10 booking with him. It's finding the fine line where someone wins enough to be a credible threat, but loses enough to be a believable underdog. Too much in either direction hurts the other.

Too much in either direction hurts the other. And he was hurting too much with losses to Roode and Samoa Joe which lead him to cut that promo where Regal convinced him to stay. They got viewers to emphasize and accidentally wrote an arc for him that they should of striked when his momentum was hot that should of ended in Takeover Orlando. But I don't really believe in that booking. That the same justification WWE used on Daniel Bryan in never fully commiting to him because they believed he would stop being over because he's only over because he's a underdog despite everyone wanted him to be the guy.

The weird thing about Bryan was that his underdog-ness never came from his win/loss record, which was deceptively strong. It came from all the worked-"shoot" shit that they'd have Triple H and Stephanie say and, later on, the Batista return that would have pushed him aside for WrestleMania season but for Punk leaving and Batista dying on the vine as a babyface.

The people thinking Tye is gonna get old fast really bug me, do people realize that the 10 Chant was a huge thing for MONTHS before Tye was ever called up? His Presence was on WWE shows for quite some time. So what makes people think now that he's finally up people are suddenly gonna stop?
I think some people just wanna watch over gimmicks die because they themselves are annoyed by them.

It depends on how they book him. His gimmick at one point was literally nothing more than a catchphrase before they made him a relatable human being. If they book him as a human being who has a character outside of saying 10 he'll be fine. If they book him as a "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THEY ARE SAYING 10 AND HAVING FUN MAGGLE I LOVE IT" aka Emma's first run treatment he won't be fine. Edit: Or alternatively Fandango going from sleazy creepy American Psycho'esque Ballroom Dancer to Hahahahahahahaha they are doing the Fandangoing look it's trending with the Sioux Falls Lacross Team Mascot teams it's the new cats meow let's do it while they book him like shit afterwards.

Luckily it seems like they're going the Daniel Bryan route of "They chant Ten because they believe in me", which is good.

They were almost the same great (JJ)/very good (Tye) workers they are now...
They didn't get a real gimmick or distinguishing look
They didn't get much mic time
They got jobbed out to everyone
So what is supposed to be their fault here OP? @perfect Timing

The only problem I have with Tye is that his ten chant has infected every other count in the show, which makes it hard to keep track of the referee trying to count legitimately for countouts and everything and...
I just realized when I go to the Smackdown live event tomorrow, I'm going to have to deal with that live. Uh oh..

It's been shown multiple times (Not just DBD's "YES", but also Stone Cold's "WHAT?") to be a successful crowd-participation element.
