Funny how a change can do wonders for your career. Jason Jordon is a beast and Tye really feels like something special thanks to the 10 gimmick. They seriously were two of the most boring guys on NXT at one point.

To be honest, they were the perfect lowcard tag team.

You didn't root for them to win but you knew they were available whenever a better team needed a credible victory.

I remember when American Alpha first started. All I could think was "why did they bother breaking up Jordan and Tye if they were just gonna put Jordan in another tag team with a random dude and an almost identical gimmick?". Guess I was wrong there.

I still remember his break up with Cody Rhodes in OVW that was right out of the pages of Tommy Rich and Eddie Gilbert. Dillenger has a shot of being over in WWE due to his 10 shtick but it might get old at some point. Count me as someone disturbed at the notion of American Alpha breaking up at some point so they can push Jordan as a singles. Does WWE not remember how boring and not over he was in NXT by himself or doing anything minus Gable? Watch a typical AA match. It's literally just Chad Gable bumping, selling, doing 90% of the work, and making a hot tag. I have seen zero evidence Jason Jordan has a singles run in him.

Dillinger is more than just The 10 Chant. Yeah at first he seemed like his entire gimmick was a chant but he actually got people to emphasize him when he did the "It I'm not going to be the NXT Champion why Bother" arc before they forced him to feud with Sanity. He really should of been the one to face Nakamura at Takeover San Antonio or against Roode at Takeover Orlando completing his redemption arc going against his biggest nemesis growing up who put the doubt in him in the first place.

But nah we need more lazy high profile match booking and high profile match rematch. They seriously missed out having a special moment that would created one of the loudest pops and chants in NXT history with Dillinger closing Takeover as the new champion with a sold out arena chanting 10 while he has tears on his face.

It's a contrast that actually works and hasn't really been done before. 10 is more of a philosophy he believes in. He believes he has all the tools of being a 10 but he doesn't actually believes he's a 10 but he has all the confidence in the world he can achieve that goal. But he's never fully satisfied. It's like when the best sports player doesn't put himself over as the best and he's only good as his training and preparation.

It's that same appeal with Dillinger like he has found that connection to connect with people. Which makes him extremely valuable asset that can't afford to be booked like garbage. You need perfect 10 booking with him.
