The WWE ring/stage/production crew is second to none. How they manage to not only get things ready at exactly 8 PM every week but to also get stuff ready in-between while the show is airing live is unparalleled. If Kevin Dunn did not have the reputation of poking his nose into the creative process he would be regarded as a legend.

That's one of the things I enjoy about seeing TV tapings and PPVs in person: seeing behind-the-scenes stuff that fans watching at home don't get to see. I've always been fascinated by stuff like that; watching them set up for a contract signing/Miz TV/whatever, and then tearing it down just as quickly shows how much of a well-oiled machine WWE really is. I was right by the stage when they set the pyro charges at Roadblock: End of the Line.

The most impressive thing is how you'd think that Austin Aries was got in the ring during Neville's introductions, but instead didn't enter the ring until after Neville was done posing.

Unnecessary? How would we know we're watching cruiserweight action if it's not a different color?

This was one of the things I was interested in seeing when I went to Smackdown a couple months ago. The speed they worked was pretty amazing. What was also interesting was that they had to change the ring again after 205 Live to the Raw set up to film a match for the Paige movie. That took them a good long while though. They had to take down the post covers. Miz and Maryse actually came out to celebrate their wedding anniversary and Miz did a great job smack talking the crowd and he amd Maryse wanted to share a dance in the ring and it took the crew so long, Miz actually called them out on it. He said something to the effect of "Haven't you guys finished yet? Jesus Christ!" It was funny.

My favorite part of going to a TV taping if being able to watch what goes on behind the scenes of the TV production. It's actually pretty fascinating.

As someone in production, this is insane how fast they do this. Hats off to them.

I keep meaning to ask about this actually since they do it during RAW etc. Thats impressive, but the ring crew and production at WWE have always been top notch

Still don't remotely see the point of it, but it was fascinating to see how quickly and cleanly they do it when I was at Raw a month ago.

The video package guys and production crew are the goddamn unsung heroes of this company. I'm curious to know more about their work, how they travel, how you train to do this in real time.

Well, now we know what Neville is always glowering at. He's pissed they're not done yet for DAAAAH KIIIIIIIIING (of Hulu)!
Seriously, that is so impressive. I've been wondering how their process is in changing the ring for the Cruiserweights. Eventually, they're going to end up dropping it, but knowing that they change the ring apron and ropes in less time as it takes to check my email at amazing. I still wonder if the guys look at it as a pain in the ass, or a great nightly challenge.

I'd kill to see a long 24 about the road crew, but I have a feeling Vince would never want it, because he'd feel it takes attention off the Superstars. Kinda the same idea behind why the referees are never really named on TV or involved in storylines like they used to.

wait, they just switch sheathing on the ropes?
I thought they swapped to a different style of ropes.

Yeah, and the mat itself gets changed like every match or so, so the Cruiser branding in that isn't a big deal either. wait, they just switch sheathing on the ropes? I thought they swapped to a different style of ropes. Everyone has always stated it was just the stuff around them. It would take way too long for them to fully breakdown the ring for just like the one or two matches a night.
