It was just case, cutscene, case, cutscene, case, stop robbery, case, cutscene, case, case, cutscene, collectable, case, cutscene, case...
I've seen people complain that you can't gun down civilians but it's not GTA Hollywood and was never meant to be.
City's pretty dead, the DLC was just cut cases, and some real good performances from most of the cast.

Bought it about four years ago. Played it for a couple of hours, put it back on the shelf under the filing "to finish later" and haven't touched it since.
It's okay, but as others have said, it seems like there was a lot of potential left on the table and almost feels everything is half-baked.

Big disappointment for me. Really was hoping for the best but it was mediocre. Great design of 1940s Los Angeles but this was a mis-step and I feel like Rockstar was better off making this more open world and letting you fail.

I adore everything about LA Noire. It's one of the only PS3 games to survive my purge of PS3 and 360 games.

I played through it on PS3 and loved it. I was glued to the story and that ending was such a bummer. The last flashback cutscene was really eerie too.

I enjoyed it, but it was repetitive.

Could've been better, but it was fine for what it was

This thread has inspired me to revisit the game. And it's still so frustrating, just scratching the surface of what this game could have been.
Ditch the failed super duper facial stuff, and liven up LA. We've had a million games where you're a cop shooting your way through the plot, but LA Noire could have gone the other way, and been deep and substantial enough to be a hit.
Sigh...

Wouldn't mind a sequel, where hopefully things get fine tuned and fleshed out.
I haven't played the game since about 2013, so the details of what dissapointed me and what I really enjoyed are kind of fuzzy. The facial tech being such a major part of gameplay was kind of annoying, so was having a partner with you constantly yapping and bitching.
All things being said...we have to admit...the cover art is pretty sexy.

I remember one cutscene where there was a meeting between gangsters, and for some reason one of the characters wasn't on screen...apart from his hat, which just floated in mid air and even got a few lines at one point.

It was painfully average at best and most likely would of been much better had one Rockstar done it themselves.

It had great potential, i remember loving just walking about and taking in the scenery more then the actual gameplay itself. I always loved the setting and time period.

I really enjoyed it, but both times I got tired of it around the time you join arson so I never finished.

Huge waste of time. It was like they wanted to make a movie but nobody bought the script, so they just turned it into a video game. And to make it worse, it wasn't even compelling.
There were so many LONG cutscenes in this "game" that the parts you actually played felt shoehorned in, like they legit didn't want it to be a game, but someone made them do it.
