Thoughts?
I beat this a few years ago ago but recently I've been occasionally going over to my parent's and playing a case; they make all the decisions during the conversations and stuff and I basically play the actual game for them. It's basically an interactive TV show for them.

Thought it'd be funner. I liked the cutscenes. The detail that went into recreating the place I'm from was amazing though. I sold it after I finished it, don't have to play it again.

One of the most disappointing games of all time. Just thinking about it makes me Rage!
The game literally refused to let you fail, making it more like a linear story than a video game. Shoot, I even tried to run over people and it would teleport me to the generic cut scene!
Plus, Cole Phelps was such a TOOL! All of his partners were much more interesting, and why should I care about his family if they never are explored beyond the opening scene.

I bought it earlier this year, found it for $3. This was one of those "I'll buy/play it when I get around to it" games. Though I did enjoy it, a different pace from the normal cause-random-violence stuff from Rockstar.

Agree I found his friend/Partner (It's been ages since I played it) that you play as later in the game to be a WAY better character

It's a good game that could have been much better. It was a huge disappointment, but I still think it has redeeming values.
I don't think the face thing worked nearly as well as they marketed it. I could rarely ever get anything out of trying to read their faces. Also the 'doubt' option was so random. I'd press it hoping to get some more info and would often instead have Cole start verbally abusing the suspect. Also one of the earlier cases was bugged to hell, somehow I ended up missing an entire sequence with a big suspect, and ended up not being able to access it at the end.

Cole Phelps was a huge asshole but I sort of liked that about him as he never really changed throughout the story I found the game okay because I did not play it until I was trying to knock off PS3 games I never played before the PS4 came out. It's one of those games that's okay at a reduced price but if you got it for the 60 cash when it first came out than you would be disappointed.

I liked the creepy psychiatrist guy. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Kind of disappointing that they just killed him off abruptly.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that couldn't read their faces. And I agree, LA Noire could have been so much better. Make LA more dense, more reason to explore it. Lose cases, or leave them open with the ability to go back and solve them later. Instead of killing or locking up suspects in those random encounters, have the option to set them free and they can become snitches, etc. etc. Make LA a living, breathing, dynamic city. Just typing that frustrates me, because of what the game could have been.

I enjoyed it, but expected much more - the mission/interrogation/crime scene soon wore thin, and could have done with some variety. Switching characters toward the end threw me slightly, and just seemed an afterthought.
The scale and ambition of the game can't be faulted, but the end product was just a bit flat.

Decent game. Needed more consequences for f***ing up and it didn't need to be open world.

Hasn't aged well over time but an unique premise and the interrogation stuff was interesting.
That final mission though. What a mess.

I liked it well enough. But as others have pointed out, there's more they could've done with the concept and the setting.

One of the few games I ever felt compelled to beat. Absolutely loved how different it was at the time.

Really Meh.
Wasn't bad... but it seemed the spent all of their time on the facial motion capture and not the rest of the game.
And when the characters wasn't wearing a hat or something it stood out massively that they just copy and pasted the face on the head.

It had so much potential. For one it wasn't open world, that killed it for me.
