Very entertaining. My girlfriend got into wrestling too, but isn't too interested in the older stuff.

You know what? I know this PPV gets a lot of flack, and deserves a lot of its reputation, but if I were to introduce someone to the whole of wrestling, I'd definitely go for something that has a more broad style like this. I see threads like this a lot and so many times, people jump in with "better" suggestions that are usually some great show that they know by heart, but have all the context for and hold dear to it without seeing that others don't have that connection. Or the hyper-mega-workrate shows. Yes, I'm sure there's an ROH or NJPW show with nothing but 5-star matches, but I personally don't feel that's a really good choice in terms of "gateway drug" for wrestling. Too overwhelming and can actually drive people away instead.

Man I haven't seen this PPV since the mid 90s, when I was really young.

While she was entertained, her favorite part of the whole show was the Kaiju Big Battel pre-show. ...and I didn't blame her. New fans have to work their way up to the "workrate" stuff. OR...maybe they never get there and just enjoy wrestling for what it is...fun entertainment and crazy storytelling. God forbid.

“I don’t like the Nasty Boys. Don’t show me them again, please.”
Carly is already smart.

I don't think I've ever seen it lol. Is it really bad? Just watch the opener: the trailer match between Blacktop Bully & Dustin Rhodes. You won't need to watch the rest. Just know this match (indirectly) introduced the wrestling world to PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ... Goldust.

Too overwhelming and can actually drive people away instead. This sums up my mindset. Get her slowly into it. It was realistically basic, but she liked the characters and how everyone was different. After a while I'll show her ROH or something and she'll appreciate the difference in styles and presentation, I think.

This one has heel written on her heart and if you ever form a tag team with her, she WILL turn on you. <3

I remember in 1998 the first show I ever watched with my girlfriend at the time was that years King of the Ring. She was absolutely convinced the Hell in the Cell match was done with computer graphics.

Do you have any other "bad" PPV's to show her? Like King of the Ring 1995 or 1999? How about Great American Bash 1991?
