At the time of the murders? Would your opinion of him change at all?

Nope. Same as it wouldn't if they found out Aaron Hernandez had CTE.
Dude straight up murdered two people.

Why would him having CTE while some hit men hired by drug dealers murdered Brown & Goldman change my opinion of him?

That CTE was planted in his brain by the LAPD.

I don't fully buy CTE as a source or contributing factor for someone to commit murder. CTE certainly does a lot of things to your psych, but there's not enough of a pattern to say it's a possibility.
On top of that, OJ didn't play very long from what I remember.

It would help explain why it happened, but it wouldn't excuse the action.

IF he truly did it, no. (if because he wasn't convicted of it).
Just like he who shall not be named. The CTE doesn't excuse the action. It may help explain them, but it doesn't excuse them.

On top of that, OJ didn't play very long from what I remember. I mean CTE is stuff like dementia, Alzheimer, depression, mood swings etc. It's led to former players killing themselves. OJ played what...12-13 years of football at a position where you were going to get hit a lot. It's entirely possible he has CTE.

I really personally have a hard time holding the murders against Benoit too terribly much (don't get me wrong, guy shouldn't be honored or anything, far from it, and I can totally get how it's wrecked his work for a lot of people) if only because of just how terribly off Benoit's brain was and how far gone he was at the time, and the fact he apparently felt remorse over it given the suicide and the Bibles. Can't say for sure of course but the prospect of a severely brain-damaged person lashing out in a moment of anger, being likely highly irrational in the aftermath, and then killing himself out of grief if something I have a hard time calling him a monster for.
OJ though? Even if he did, it clearly wouldn't be nearly as advanced as it was in Benoit's case, and the dude's had no qualms about trying to cash in on it.

I think there's a big difference between explaining something and excusing something.
I mean, it's entirely believable that OJ has CTE. Maybe it's even likely, but I don't think that would change my opinion of him or what happened an iota.

Let's be fair, if he was diagnosed with it, Cochrane would have used a rhyme based argument in court:
"If it's CTE, you must set him free!"
