I never really understood Daylight Savings. I live in an area that doesn't do that. Anyone care to explain?
But I looked on the forums the first day of Daylight saving and my time near the forums headline still went 1 hour foward.

Back in the days of oil lamps, DST was made up to help the folks conserve their lamp oil.
EDIT: Ben Franklin's idea, I think.

For us crappers in the Southern Hemisphere: Make sure you turn your clocks forward an hour if Daylight savings apply to you.

The fact that it is going to be dark at 4 PM is depressing, but at least it is an incentive to get up earlier and not miss the precious early dawn moments of daylight.
