Like have her win against whoever she fights at Brooklyn 3 then show up on Raw or SDL that week and be like No one on NXT can beat me so I'm coming here. Regal makes her vacate and it simultaneously resets the NXT women's division and lets Asuka keep her badass aura, making it so it means something when someone finally beats her.

Plus they can tout that she legit broke Goldberg's fake streak. That gives her automatic cred.
I mean she still will have it, but if she comes to the roster without being pinned or submitted it'll make her feel even more badass.

Yep, I agree 100% I'm like a broken record at this point, but they have something really special in Asuka and immediately kill that if someone beats her clean before she comes to the main roster. This upcoming triple threat is the perfect way to get the title off of her and still have her never submit or pinned.
It's so f***ing easy and I hope they're not dumb enough to screw up what they have (SPOILER: They probably are). I've said it way too many times, but she should be the Lesnar of the women's division. She's very believable in that role and it would be something really unique. I think they'd almost have to do that if she ever comes up.
I just wonder where she would go if called up. You could have her come up and destroy Alexa Bliss. But man would I love to see Charlotte win the title yet again only for Asuka to show up at a PPV and absolutely squash her.

Yeah there's potential of something special in having Asuka carrying over her undefeated streak on the main roster and winning the Raw or SD Womens title in a short time undefeated.
I don't think any of the NXT women are on Asukas level and having them beat Asuka isn't going to elevate them that much since none of them come close to the complete package like Asuka does. Only scenario I could really get behind is Nikki Cross being more crazy than Asuka and willing to go through insane depths of punishment and finding that extra gear of insanity was the only way of defeating her.

I hoped Charlotte would have been heel for Asuka's debut, but I guess giving Asuka/Charlotte away so soon would have been a mistake. But yes I agree, they do somehow need to get her onto the roster undefeated.
They could kayfabe an injury where she has to vacate the title and then call her up?

No, no she doesn't, the longer this streak goes on, the less happy people will be when someone actually breaks it, no matter how hard they try to protect her aura in the process, see Goldberg v Kevin Nash. When she hits the main roster and loses, it will be to someone who is already over like Charlotte Flair who wouldn't benefit from it as much as the next big NXT star.

The storyline seems like it's going to be Ember Moon finally beating her at Takeover: Brooklyn using the Eclipse. They set it up with Asuka desperately pushing the referee to avoid being hit with it at the last Takeover. Then Asuka "injures" Ember and takes her out of the next Takeover. To me, the obvious story is that Ember will come back and finally beat Asuka by using the Eclipse. Seems like it should be at Takeover: Brooklyn. They basically have made the story that Asuka is afraid of the Eclipse move, and then she took out Ember to avoid facing her again. Asuka is clearly a heel now. The last vignette with her showed her being insincere with the fans. I think they should see this storyline through. Hopefully Ember will come off like the big star of the NXT women's division at the end of it and Asuka can finally move-on to the main roster.

If she loses it needs to be to Hojo or Io, like be the only people that actually get a reaction out of her because she knows them... I'd rather it be someone she sees as unworthy (say, Peyton Royce. I'd almost want it to be someone who isn't very good at all, like Liv Morgan, winning in an absolute fluke, but I don't want to deal with the kind of backlash that'd engender...), just because I want it to drive her over the edge and just have her completely lose her shit. |
