Watched it live and to this day I have no idea how the guys made it through the rest of the show. Also: Mark Henry reading his poem and bawling his eyes out on Raw still breaks me down to this day. I watched it live with several friends, most of which weren't hardcore fans anymore. The room got pretty dusty after a while, and we followed Road Dogg & Godfather's lead.

I was watching the ppv at a friend's up thfront street from my house. Because it was a school night and I was 10, my dad wanted me home by a certain time but promised I could watch the rest as long as I was home and went to bed right after. I remember leaving right after a match and running full speed down the street (about a two minute run) as not to miss The Blue Blazer match as I really liked the character and was really wanted him to win the intercontinental titl. I remember bursting in the door and running to the TV, turning it on, and seeing just shots of the crowd. Owen had fell as I was running like a maniac to get home to ensure I did not miss his match specifically. It was a rough go to watch the show after that.

That shit was surreal.
My adorable mark-y Mother at the time.."I bet the Godfather was responsible!"

I won't forget that for literally a month after a school friend of mine insisted it was an angle because he was going to debut on Nitro and team with Bret.
If only that was the case.

I was a mark for Owen so when I found at the news my 15yr old self couldn't believe it. My mum walked in and told me and then they had a brief story about it on the news. I went to school that day and a lot of people were shocked and speaking about it even non fans. I read it in the paper that day and watched a few Owen matches when I got home from work. I felt sad about it and confused as I hadn't watched WWE for about 3 weeks so I didn't know why he was using the Blazer gimmick.

Still possibly the most heart-breaking moment in wrestling history. One of the true good guys of the business, a family man who was a complete cleanskin in a very dirty game, killed in a situation that he probably never should have been in.

Wow, you all are some youngins. Or, better yet, yutes.
I was in my senior year of grad school when Owen died. I was watched the PPV at a local bar with about 50 other fans, and yes, it was surreal. I still can't watch the tape without getting choked up by JR and King's expressions and manner of speaking. They were legitimately horrified, and who can blame them? I'll never forget the next day when the photo of Owen being worked on the ring was in every newspaper. People who didn't understand pro wrestling were confused by the entire tragedy. WWE had tons of mainstream media coverage at the time, which only made it worse.
God Bless Owen, sincerely one of my favorite wrestlers of all time.

I remember I was out at Toys R Us getting wrestling figures with my mom. There was a new Blue Blazer figure that just came out that I wanted, but it was only at Walmart I think. I was excited for the show and wanted to get home once I realized what time it was, but I missed the first part of the PPV. I just remember being very confused at what was going on at the time. We had that scribbly screen way of watching PPVs where I couldn't see the feed clearly amongst the rainbow of distorted lines, only hear it. I know JR announced Owen's death later on the show, and I remember thinking it was just another "gone too far" wrestling storyline. I was concerned though since it seemed a little much even for then. Then right after the show, I watched the news and immediately knew it was real once it was reported on.
Owen was one of my absolute favorites. I was just a big mark for all the Hart Foundation guys, so even years after the screwjob, I was still a huge fan of Owen. Him and The Rock were my favs at the time, and I loved the few times they teamed together while in The Nation. Raw is Owen was a tearjerker - I held it mostly together until the end with the tribute graphic - it really hit me right then and there.

I saw some of the PPV at a friends house and left after the Al Snow/Hardocre Holly match and would watch the rest the next day as he was taping it for me as he had cable and I didn't.
Later that night, around 11pm my mother mentioned that she heard on the news some wrestler died that night and after the break they would talk about, I couldn't believe it and was saddened when they covered the story.
I was in High school at the time and that's all anyone could talk about as WWF was a hot topic each week back then. Of course there was always that one bullshitter who claims he saw the whole thing happen but we paid him no mind.
As for Owen, he was a hell of an entertainer and he's sorely missed by everyone. RIP
