That's Match of the Night.. or Day depending on the time.
Trying to think of when something like this happened.. when the qualitycurtain jerker match was not not topped for the rest of the event. But even though I'm sure there is a ton of examples but I can't think of any.
Well I did like the Bret/Owen match better then the ladder at Wrestlemania X so I'll say that. But that's just my personal opinion.
Anyone have examples?

First to come to mind after Mania 10, is Royal Rumble 1991. The Rockers vs the Orient Express was by far the best match on the card.
Triple H vs Daniel Bryan at Mania 30 also.

Over the Edge 99.
The opener on that show was probably the best opener WWF had on PPV all year.

Recently, No Mercy 2016 opened with both its MOTN and its main event (Styles vs. Cena vs. Ambrose) due to not wanting to compete with a Presidential Debate.

The first In Your House is definitely an example with Bret/Hakushi.

Shane McMahon/Styles at WM33 (if we don't count pre show)

My opinion of course, but SummerSlam 1988 opened with a really good 15 minute draw between the Bulldogs and Rougeaus.
That's one of my favorite matches of all time.

Team Piper vs. Team Flair at Survivor Series 1991.
Shame about the garbage ending. That match could've gone another 20 minutes.

MNM vs. The Hardys, WWECW December to Dismember. The only good match in a sea of crap.

Definitely Ziggler/Bryan from Bragging Rights 2010. Not just MOTN, but IIRC, it tied with HBK/Taker from WM26 for MOTY. The rest of that PPV was total ass, but that match was all kinds of awesome.

HHH v Shawn is great but I don't think it's aged well. Unlike Kurt v Rey which is a classic in a short space of time and a match I still go back to a lot.

Nothing on Wrestlemania VI comes close to the Birdman Koko B Ware and The Model Rick Martel
