Somehow this will be much more competitive than Mayweather vs McGregor.

Shame Floyd fights on Showtime and HBO because we could have had dueling Buffer Brother introductions.

Connor had better be deep into some animal sacrifices to ancient gods shit to double down on every possible hope his gambit to make his name so big he can put Dana over the table works because it could easily deflate his whole star so fast that he'll be down where Rhonda is.

Getting owned in the boxing ring isn't going to effect Dana's man crush on McGregor. If anything he's going to get "massive respect for even trying something no one else would have ever fxxxing tried."

I don't think Connor fights in the UFC again unless Dana gets it in writing he has to Dana/UFC is going to make a shit ton of money off this a promoter but it would not surprise me in the slightest if Connor says i'm done and just takes his money and walks off

From the jump he's always said his goal was to get in, make money, and get out.

And yes, I am cheering for McGregor, even if he doesn't have a chance.

Ok, so I'm not betting McGregor to win this thing... But, I think he's got a shot for the following reasons.
1) he's going to be the bigger man for this fight. He walks around probably around 170ish, and the fight weight is 154. He'll rehydrate well and be bigger than Floyd on fight night. He also has minimal reach and height advantage.
2) He's the younger man. Almost a decade younger at the time of fight.
3) Less damage over a career. This may be questionable because of Floyd's fight style, but a 28 year old with only 24 fights against a 40 year old with 49, plus the difference in round structure, it's a issue that might be there.
4) Conor's ridiculous self belief. Look, everyone is picking Mayweather, but the self belief of a champion is important. This goes concert with the next thing
5) Nothing to lose. No one expected Buster Douglas, Holly Holm, etc... Conor believes he can win and he has nothing to lose. It's still a fight folks and one punch is one punch with a MMA glove or a Boxing glove.
So, I know that it's likely that Mayweather wins, but in a sports scene where the impossible becomes realer every time we think it can't happen, maybe we should dream. Maybe McGregor can win... Maybe.

He has more to worry about than just Dana being desperate for a star draw, though; if this turns him into a joke in the eyes of the media then he'll have to worry about everyone but Dana. Ronda got the rug pulled out from under her when it came to Road House and all her sponsorship deals, and especially if Connor is going to dance around the idea of ever even stepping into the octagon again, those deals are big for keeping hsi pockets lined and his name out there.

The cleveland browns have a better chance at winning the superbowl.

This thing will make a metric assload of money. They're not getting my $100 to watch Floyd dodge everything and carry the fight a bunch of needless rounds though.

Said it before, I'll say it again: This holds zero appeal for me and I really can't wrap my head around how anyone could be excited for it.
Both guys have loathsome public personas.
One isn't a boxer.
The other is far and away the most boring boxing superstar of all time.
The price tag is going to be roughly the equivalent of half of a car payment.

Mayweather doesn't even have a visually appealing style. Why do people buy his fights especially late in his career and complain about how boring it was

I can't find anything on Conor winning it as an amateur boxer. Here's a boxing site from ireland, im searching the records to see if Conor ever won anything as an amateur. amateur-boxing.strefa.pl/Nationalchamps/Ireland.html

You get the people tuning in to watch you for your skills and the people tuning in hoping to see you lose.

Here's a quote from Mcgregor about his amateur days, "“I competed in a load of novice tournaments back in the day but every Thursday night Phil used to have these club shows so I’d show up every week and fight. I think I won two tournaments in the Ringside Club but man, that was a long time ago. It’s been a long road I’ve been on. One of the junior novices or something, I don’t know."
