Monday Night RAW comes to us live from Evansville, Indiana, and the big focus is on a big announcement. Roman Reigns has plans for Summerslam and has decided to let the WWE Universe in on them early. Who among men would want to try to interrupt him? That would just be monstrous.
(....FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, RICHLEN, THAT HAD ALL THE SUBTLETY OF AN F5!)
Sorry about that.
However, that announcement will likely be overshadowed by the grizzly situation that has taken over the Intercontinental Championship feud. Seems that Miz somehow ended up with the celebration bear for his partner last week, and after suspecting that the bear was Dean Ambrose, he unmasked the ursine mid-match, only to find some other cub under the fur. But turning his focus back to Rhyno and Slater turned out to be a boo-boo, as Dean Ambrose would switch places inside the bear suit (which was perhaps the most over thing on the show after the Joe/Lesnar brawl- more on that next) and cost Miz and himself the match. It was hardly a Kodiak moment for Miz, but can the champ paws the momentum of Ambrose or will Ambrose continue to bother Miz's pic-a-nic basket? And how bad will the reaction be to me posting so many bear puns?
Also about to be overshadowed by the bear suit is the violent build towards Samoa Joe's challenge of Universal Champion BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROCK LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLESNARRRRRRRRRRRRR at WWE Awful PPV Name. Last week, Lesnar came face to face with the Destroyer a week after Joe choked out Paul Heyman, and the result was a major league brawl. Lesnar may not be in Evansville tonigh, but Joe will, and he's likely out to send a crystal clear message that he intends to take the belt from the Beast Incarnate.
Not so lucky as far as his last few months is Bray Wyatt, but he hasn't let that get him down. Indeed, he seems to be doubling down on his efforts, targeting the Kingslayer/Architect/Shai's favorite, Seth (FREAKIN') Rollins. Rollins has dismissed Wyatt as a false prophet and needless to say the former World Heavyweight Champion has taken exception to that. How will he work his mind games tonight, and what will Seth's reaction be?
Alexa Bliss seems to have really gotten herself a major problem now, as Nia Jax is not the only one hunting down the RAW Women's Champion. Indeed, Mickie James, Sasha Banks, and Dana Brooke have all set a target on Little Miss Bliss. Which one of them will emerge as the next contender, and will Emma bounce back from tapping out in her first match back?
All this, plus we play rousing games of "Where In The World Is Finn Balor?" and "How Much Worse Can Bayley Get Booked?" when RAW airs live tonight, 8 PM in the east, 7 in the central, ONLY on USA Network!
