Is anyone seriously checking out GLOW that isn't a wrestling die hard? And for those who aren't and are just randomly watching it, why would a 1980s set show about a women's fed prompt you to turn on WWE in the random chance that they would main event women's matches? I feel like I should write Netflix and demand a show based on 1980s Memphis now. Anyway, based on the booking of this match tonight why wouldn't Bryan simply strip Carmella of MITB next week since Ellsworth did basically the same thing? He was banned from ringside and interfered. Further, it baffles me that no one on the SD creative team has noticed the jarring idiocy of the big picture booking here. You have 5 women killing themselves in MITB while someone who has never wrestled in her life has gotten TWO title shots for no apparent reason. At this point Bryan should simply give Becky a make good title shot to make up for these various MITB screwjobs. It's not like anything on SD at this point is based on the slightest bit of merit. The GLOW Netflix show will not put butts in seats. Shit, I'm a wrestling fan and I probably won't watch it.

Does anyone else think that Heel Daniel Bryan will try and strip Carmella of her briefcase next week for not using a regulation WWE steel chair.

The GLOW show is getting a great deal of mainstream press, and I'm seeing full page adverts for it in newspapers. I've seen quite a few people online who I know don't watch wrestling who are watching this show. If it directs them to the WWE, it's a success.

Not to pull the annoying shit people have been doing lately, but yeah, GLOW is getting a lot of attention from non-wrestling fans, is in fact a big deal, and it's probably wise of WWE to try to be mindful of that.
Not knowing that isn't being some uncultured cretin living under yonder rock, but whether or not it's a big deal to you, it is a big deal, regardless, to quite a few people.

GLOW is a new and quite popular Netflix series. Naomi wants to make us feel GLOW...
MY GOD!
They've been in cahoots the whole time.

I think you're underestimating the popularity and acclaim it has received. Like it's a women ensemble comedy show starring Allison Brie made by the same people who made Netflixs Biggest Show called Orange is the New Black. It was going to be a huge hit anyways with the built in fanbase of wrestling, orange is the new black, and shit ton of advertising. Also it made wrestling look great and never disrespected the sport. Shit the show is essentially about an failed actress who tried to change the sport to her own way but eventually gives up and falls in love with it. Anyone who watched and enjoyed the series who had a negative view about pro wrestling before probably got a more favorable view of it when finished.

I don't know if it's going in reverse, or just they're trying new stuff and it isn't working because they have idiots writing it now on BOTH shows.
Personally the revolution peaked in NXT. It was cool to see it on the main roster, but it's never been given a fair shot to just develop.
We've had good matches here and there, but nothing to go along with good storytelling, b/c there isn't any.
It's been more in a stasis pattern for me.

The women's booking can be just as shortsighted, backwards, and aimless as the men's!

GLOW is getting a ton of attention because it's a new project by the people behind Orange is the New Black. It has nothing to do with wrestling fans or not

The point of it was to pop a rating first with the controversy and then through a ladder match to prop the show up until Cena comes back. Nothing more. When you realize this is the truth and it is nothing to get upset about, you will not get so upset about the show. Nah, watching a show that's written solely to be waste your time and go in circles is something to get pretty upset at the show about.

I feel like I should write Netflix and demand a show based on 1980s Memphis now. I can tell you that at least two of the most unlikely people in my office (a younger female in her early 20s and and an older one in her late 50s) have been talking nonstop about the show all this week; I think they're all watching 1-2 episodes a day and having a "Book Club" meeting over what they watched sometimes. I'd go as far as to say that the very reason why WWE is going to try to capitalize as much as possible on the show is the fact that the Venn Diagram of those who watch OitNB/Glow and are fans of Gossip Columns are very likely to check out at least an episode or two of Total Divas/Bellas. Whether that will actually garner regular flagship show viewership is yet to be seen (especially since it seems the "Total" shows seem to be cooling off as of late), but I can see their thought process behind trying to capitalize on the Netflix shows' popularity.

The really hilarious thing to me is that I doubt anyone raving about the show GLOW ever actually watched the terrible 1980s episodes of GLOW. GLOW was hardly some crowning moment in the feminist movement. The mastermind behind it, David McLane, is supposed to be a really sleazy guy, isn't he?
I actually watched a little clip of GLOW on You Tube yesterday. It was Hollywood and Vine vs. Susie Spirit and Americana. Oh man. You could tell Mando Guerrero trained these chicks to do a handful of spots but otherwise they had zero clue how to actually put it together to create a coherent match. It ironically enough reminded me of WWE women's matches from a few years ago, where you had Alicia Fox and some others bust out some absurd spots while having no clue how to actually work.

If this is the WOMENS EVOLUTION, we're going in reverse... A women's money in the bank match was the main event of Smackdown, so nah.

Wait how was Ellsworth back in the match?! I only watched the start of SD and he got banned from the arena. This sounds silly even by WWE standards.

He ran in from the crowd like every other person every banned from somewhere. They even addressed it on TS by saying WWE needs to have better security and better alerters.

They whiffed on a historical-slam-dunk-grade-A comedy spot by not having a security officer shoot Ellsworth in the ass with a taser and "shock him mercilessly" for a long ass time. Same result, but with a more satisfying finish. Plus it would give "WWE Security" a tad bit of kayfabe credibility in the future.
