In the New Generation/Very early Attitude era, there were a few feuds that seemed like the WWE wasn't sure what direction they were going to take with both men involved. Two that stick out to me were Duke Droese/Triple H and Savio/Stone Cold.
In both feuds the wrestlers traded victory. I remember having somewhat high expectations for Droese as a kid. It was almost disappointing to see him eventually lose to Triple H clean and then transition to a glorified enhancement talent.
Do you think the plan was always for Hunter and Austin to come out of those feuds victorious? If so, why make them look weak By ever losing?
Can you think of other feuds where it seemed like the WWE wasn't really sure which way to go until mid-feud?
