Adam Schefter is reporting that the Packers will hire former Browns coach Mike Pettine as DC to replace Dom Capers.
I can't say I'm excited.

Speaking of DCs:
Which no doubt means that Vic Fangio is right now thinking to himself, "Goddammit, now I have to stay with the f***ing Bears. F***!"

The same report says they've rehired Joe Philbin, likely as OC.

Three years after he made the dumbest offensive playcall decision in Super Bowl history, Seahawks fire OC Darrell Bevell.

The Carolina Panthers are nearing a deal with Norv Turner for him to be the next offensive coordinator
His son Scott will also be part of the near as the new QB coach
Would be a huge Turner family reunion as Norv's brother Ron is an offensive consultant and Norv's nephew Cameron is an assistant QB coach.

Since I did a simulation of the NCAA FBS National Championship Tournament, I decided to do one of the NFL Playoffs this year. Thread here for your viewing entertainment.Using Madden 25 with updated rosters, but the Rams are still in St. Louis. I'm starting with the Wild Card weekend, even though the playoffs are already started. Just think of it as an alternate universe.

The same report says they've rehired Joe Philbin, likely as OC. This I have no problem with because he was a much better OC in Green Bay than a head coach in Miami. But we could have had, at the DC spot, Vic f***ing Fangio, the guy who helped run one of THE best defenses in the league this season, and instead we pick up refuse from the Browns' dumpster fire. Maybe I'll be wrong, because it's hard to be worse than Capers and some people are really better suited for coordinators than head coaching, but this is a dangerous signing.

Hold up...the Bears hired British actor Mark Strong as HC?
I mean, that's clearly out of left field.

I see that even if the Browns did not fire Jackson, they did fire Ryan Grigson. I need to check Pat McAfee’s twitter to see him joke about it (no one seems to hate Grigson more than Pat, with good reason).

Former President and CEO of the 49ers Carmen Policy on the Jimmy G contract negotiations on a local radio show:
“If I were representing the team I would enter the room and bring a large jar of Vaseline and I’d say to Jimmy’s agent I’m a nice guy, I really want to do the right thing, please be gentle with me.”
