Yeah, I don't buy this Patriots dissension story and from what I have heard, not many football fans do either (even the ones that hate them) Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have never had a friendly relationship. There isn't any dislike, but it's a business relationship rather than a personal one. It's not like Brady and Josh McDaniels, who appear to be legitimate friends. Brady knows how cutthroat Belichick has been in the past in dealing with fading quarterbacks and Belichick has proven that he'll know when it's time to move on from a star player. That said, there doesn't appear to be a ton of meat on the bones of that story, regardless of how much ESPN has been propping it up as the sports story of the year. Most of Seth Wickersham's more outlandish claims have been debunked by local media who cover the team on a daily basis. It's the kind of fodder that drives conversation on sports talk radio and bloviating talking head shows for a day or two before they move on to the next cause celebre. If the New England Patriots fail to win Super Bowl LII, it won't be because of some sort of "dissension" between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. It'll be because they don't have a consistent-enough pass rush, their offensive line morphs back into the sieve it was for the first half of the season, and their starting linebackers are retreads.

I can see the Patriots pushing Bellichick out in order to keep McDaniels around. I can't It's Bellichick and Brady to the end and if McDaniels was indeed the future, Garrapolo would still be around Pats are a stable franchise but with Brady getting older each year, you have take things one year at a time at this point

So with the Gruden hiring now official, how did the Raiders get around the Rooney Rule?

Adam Schefter Verified account @adamschefter 1h 1 hour ago
Packers are hiring Brian Gutekunst as their GM, as @mcclain_on_NFL said. A 5-year deal for Gutekunst.
I'm not sure how to feel about this.

So with the Gruden hiring now official, how did the Raiders get around the Rooney Rule? I think they got their Rooney Rule interview out of the way a few days ago.

The Rooney rule is insulting as f***. "Here's a token interview with a candidate of color. We cool?"

Chiefs OC Matt Nagy is set to become the Bears new HC according to NFLN. I would have crossed him off my list after watching the game Saturday

Yea, I hate that shit If you have a coach already in mind like the Raiders with Gruden than it comes off as very insulting because you are only there to appease a rule. However, in saying that one would hope if you are in that situation and just a token interview than at the very least you hope word of mouth travels and you get legit chances with other open jobs

Eh, who the tuck really knows when it comes to hiring a first time coach? Most of the talking heads on Twitter seem to like it. It’s certainly not exciting, but whatever.
Nagy reportedly wants to retain Vic Fangio as his DC. Which I’d really like to see happen. Hopefully they make that happen and I’ll mark his first move as HC as a win.

I can see the Patriots pushing Bellichick out in order to keep McDaniels around. Why? Bill Belichick as a coach has shown no signs of regression and is still widely regarded as the best coach in the NFL. Josh McDaniels, as good as he's been as the Patriots' offensive coordinator since returning to the team in 2012, was a failure as a head coach in Denver, compiling an 11-17 record in two seasons with the Broncos, and he wasn't much better as a talent evaluator, as he used a first-round pick on Tim Tebow. If there's anything to believe in this ESPN report, it's that if push comes to shove, Robert Kraft is going to take Tom Brady's side in the Brady-Belichick divorce. Which, by the way, I'm not saying will happen any time soon, but given the history of Belichick and Kraft, will happen at some point, barring an unexpected retirement from the coach or quarterback. Chiefs OC Matt Nagy is set to become the Bears new HC according to NFLN. I would have crossed him off my list after watching the game Saturday They had some ugly dropped passes and their best offensive weapon left the game early, but there's no way I'd consider Matt Nagy a hot-shot, have-to-hire coaching option after watching the Chiefs putter to 56 yards and zero points after scoring 21 and gaining 259 yards in the first half. Travis Kelce is a solid option and probably the best tight end in the league after Rob Gronkowski, but his absence alone cannot completely demoralize an offense like it did Saturday afternoon.

I'm not disputing that he's still the best coach in the NFL, hell I think they are going back to the super bowl. But like you said Kraft will take Brady's side in the divorce and Brady and McDaniels are closer than Brady and Belichick. I could just see Bill not really wanting to deal with it and Kraft not wanting to lose McDaniels. I also think when either Brady or Belichick leave the dynasty leaves too.
