Here's the link to the full interview for anyone interested.
I'm concerned James Storm might legitimately be hitting the drink too hard. Here's the excerpt for the topic on hand.
Storm turned heel later that year and joined with Bram and Eddie Kingston as part of a mysterious new faction named the “Death Crew Council,” with each of them wearing black outfits and white masks. The group never received much traction and fizzled out six months later.
“There's a lot of reasons (it didn’t work),” Storm said, “but the No. 1 reason that I want to stay is because it wasn't done the way that I had pitched it and wanted it to be.”
The long, planned out storyline included Storm originally being fired by Billy Corgan, then taking a real shot with a Taser after getting into an argument with creative consultant John Gaburick before being hauled off to jail. It would go on to include him being found not guilty — but the group, which would include a mystery fourth person, plotted revenge against Gaburick. As it continued, he would end up getting a world championship match with Bobby Lashley.
“I had this planned out for this past Slammiversary,” Storm said. “We have our match and then EC3 comes in and tries to screw me by hitting me with a beer bottle. One, two, and I kick out. Then Bram and Kingston come down, beat up EC3 a little bit and they fight out and the fourth member comes out, takes off the mask and it's Jarrett and he hits Lashley with the guitar and then I pin Lashley.”
Storm thought it made sense that a “TNA original” should have won the championship at the big anniversary show. Instead, the company went in a totally different direction, and the DCC turned out to be a failed experiment. Storm was quickly back to being the beer-loving good guy and transitioning into his recent feud with EC3.
To sum it up: "Tase me, bro. Then put the belt on me, brotha.'"
