Episode 370: "The Secret Plan To Turn The Tables! Nightmare Luffy Makes His Appearance!" They really said Jenga in this episode? Aren't they afraid of getting sued? The Straw Hats Fight against Oars continues unmitigated and has its first casualty in Franky who gets taken out by a kick from Oars. It becomes very evident that Moria has made Oars a more formidable foe giving him commands and also using his powers to really make him into a monster version of Luffy (by making him able to extend his limbs). That's not to say that the Straw Hats don't try their hardest to beat him, using some great team work. Finally, Nami also joins the fight (having apparently stolen some of Perona's clothes...at least that's what I think given the style and the Jolly Roger on her shirt) and should bring some ideas into this fight (hilarious though how Sanji completely exposes her while being overjoyed that she's safe). Meanwhile, Luffy meets the Victim Association...basically victims of Moria who live in the forest on the island (which I find strange...wasn't it said that Moria's pirate crew puts the victims back on their ship and lets them loose so that they won't be able to get their shadow back? How did this pirate crew manage to escape that fate? Were they just lucky like Brook and woke up just in time to turn around? Or did Moria deem them so weak that he rather used their ship as firewood or something and let them live in the forest? It just seems like a bit of a plothole to me). Their leader is Captain Lola of the Rolling Pirate Crew (her name and her asking apparently every man if he wants to marry her...gee, I wonder who got her shadow on this island? I really cannot tell. ) and she has a splendid idea to support Luffy in his fight against Moria...stuffing as many captured shadows as possible into him and raising his power level this way (as shown by a pretty awesome scene where Luffy Zoro-like cuts down a tree after getting a swordsman's shadow stuffed into him.). Apparently, this gives him a pretty awesome form which we only see parts of...hopefully we get to see it in the next episodes. I'd say another pretty good episode. Manga Differences: -How the Risky Brothers (perhaps Captain Lola's field commanders, I think, and also the ones who provided their shadows to Perona's squirrel subordinates) trip up and "capture" Luffy is an anime-only addition. In the manga, we immediately see them talking to him in the first panel that starts this sequence. -Otherwise, the usual scene extensions. Mata ashita, yarodomo!

Episode 371: "The Straw Hat Crew Gets Wiped Out! The Shadow-Shadow Power In Full Swing!"
Quick, gotta find something to wake Robin up!...Uhm, oh look, there's a big important-looking Poneglyph standing right over there!
This is the first episode in a long time where we do spend the entirety on just one location, in this case, the fight Oars vs. The Straw Hat Crew (+ Brook). It is a pretty entertaining fight with the Straw Hats continuing to use everything at their disposal to topple Oars but now that Moria is controlling the latter, it is far more difficult. Loved Brook's "Lightning Arrow" style attack (has to be seen to be really appreciated) and the funny moment where Chopper reveals Oars's cause of death (froze to death because he basically strolled around the arctic half naked). At the end, four fighters are down: Brook (kicked by Oars after being unable to move due to his lightning arrow attack), Robin (got her shadow taken away from her by Moria...though in the time it took for him to cut it off, one of the other Straw Hats could have done something like...I don't know...save her from getting her shadow taken away?!) as well as Sanji/Chopper (fell victim to Oars's version of the Gum Gum Gatling). That leaves only Zoro, Nami and Usopp to fight, so hopefully Zoro can do some more damage to Oars.
All in all, a good fight makes for a good episode.
Manga differences: -Some of the usual scene extensions but nothing too distinctive from the manga to report.
Until 'morrow!

Episode 372: "The Incredible Battle Starts! Luffy vs. Luffy!"
Usopp should sue Gecko Moria for that blatant assalt he did on him.
We finally get to see Luffy in his Nightmare form, looking like an unjolly, blue giant (good thing that his vest seems to be from pretty stretchable material) and being probably the most powerful Luffy has ever been in this series, managing to wipe the floor with Oars as if he was a featherweight. While it is an impressive feat to watch Luffy manhandle Oars like this, it sadly leaves for a very one-sided and, thus, rather boring fight compared to the Oars vs. Straw Hat Crew battle. Still, it is satisfying to see Moria finally get some hits...RIGHT IN THE FAAAAACE!!!
Otherwise, the prelude sees Zoro getting wiped out as well (after a valiant effort) with only Nami and Usopp remaining (and their last ditch effort with the salt getting thwarted by Moria's shadow). Those two also get to know the Victim Association who have come to bring Luffy's fallen comrades to safety.
Finally, the episode ends with Luffy beating down Oars and Moria just in time for the shadows in his body to leave him. Now the fight should be over...or is it not?
Decent episode this time around.
Manga Differences: -Besides a brief anime-only shot of Kuma (whom we don't see in the manga again after the Luffy vs. Moria fight is over) and the usual scene extensions, no major manga differences to report.
See y'all the day after today!

Episode 373: "The End Of The Battle Is Nigh! Pound In The Finishing Move!"
Never thought Oars would turn out to be that spineless.
The ep gives us a new intro (well, those of us who don't watch the series via Crunchyroll)...
...and it's meh. I love the video part giving us a sort of overview of the series until this point in opening form, but that "We Are!" remix is just...bad. The first one and the one sung by the Straw Hat VAs were far superior compared to that lifeless drek in that opening. It is sad for the video portion but I gladly continue watching "Jungle P" as the opening for the time being.
Oars is finally brought down for good by an awesome combination attack involving all the Straw Hats supporting Luffy for his final Gear 3 attack. How every cogwheel in their plan moves into each other is a pleasure to watch and Luffy's final hit that shatters Oars's spine is suitably epic.
Though despite the dawn rising, the fight is not over with Moria still running. Interesting speech from Moria here implying that Luffy is too weak to survive in the New World and, more interesting, that the reason for Moria's demented psyche may be what he encountered in the New World since he hints that he prefers zombie soldiers over living ones since they cannot die (geez, his meeting with Kaido, one of the Four Emperors, must have been really traumatic). That being said, he brings about his ultimate attack, Shadows' Asgard, calling all the shadows of the island to him...which in turn means that all the remaining zombies die which we see in great detail (showing us most of the zombies we encountered during this arc. I am mostly sad for Lola since she was finally gonna get Absalom this time). With 1,000 shadows now in him, a weakened Luffy should not stand a chance against him especially with the dawn rising...right?
A good episode definitely here.
Manga differences: -Besides some scene extensions, again nothing major to report.
Until 'morrow!

Episode 374: "Our Bodies Vanish! The Morning Sun Shines On The Nightmarish Island!"
So you might say...the morning sun has vanquished the horrible night?
The fight Luffy vs. Moria comes to an end with Luffy using a combined attack of Second and Third Gear to...well...cause Moria to puke out all the shadows he swallowed. Despite Moria having gained some enormous strength and still using his Shadow-Shadow powers, he has overexerted himself, leaving him wide open for Luffy to cause some serious damage. Unfortunately, this leaves the only real drama with whether or not Luffy can finish him off in time for the sun to rise (as pointed out by Zoro). Gotta love Luffy's matter-of-fact statement that he cannot be crushed since he is made from rubber and the bravery of Captain Lola who stands with the Straw Hats to see this fight through. Moria's final words also hall eerily in one's minds, making one think about what terrible enemies might await the Straw Hat Crew in the New World and whether or not they are ready for them.
In the end, was it too late for them? The morning sun breaks through and starts burning down all the shadowless to ash! Is this the end of the Straw Hat crew?
Still a good episode all things considered.
Manga Differences: -The flashback to when Luffy was unable to move after his battle with Rob Lucci was anime filler. In the manga, we do not get any flashback when Usopp says that Luffy should know what happened last time he overused Second Gear and Third Gear. To be honest though, I liked this flashback because in the manga I actually could not remember what Usopp referred to. But the anime version definitely jogged my memory. -The usual scene extensions.
See y'all in next day's time!

Episode 375: "Not Out Of Danger Yet! Orders To Annihilate The Straw Hat Crew!"
Hogback is still alive?! Darn, I am giving up hope that anybody's ever gonna die in the present time.
The first part of the episode deals with the shadows returning to their owners which we get to witness by going to various places around the world (including seeing the person to whom Cindry's shadow belonged to: a cutie housemaid named Margarita who also does not like plates that much). And don't worry, of course Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Robin as well as the Rolling Pirate Crew did not get vanquished by the morning sun but were saved just in time. For now, jubilations are in order over the end of the Thriller Bark...but it is interspersed with solemnity of the Straw Hat Crew, worrying about what Luffy's Gear techniques take out of his strength and deciding that they should shift their weight more in future fights. It is just such a nice little character moment that really shows how deeply the Straw Hats care about one another.
And in the second part, Bartholomew Kuma springs into action with his orders being to annihilate anyone who was witness to Gecko Moria's defeat at the hands of Luffy. For now, we don't know the exact extent of his powers yet but he should not be someone to underestimate. By the end, it is probably Zoro who will try him first of the Straw Hats (after he easily took out several of the Rolling Pirates crew). We shall see.
A good episode again.
Manga Differences: -The usual scene extensions (especially in the scenes showing the Moria victims realizing that their shadows are back) but nothing major to report here.

Episode 376: "It Repels Everything! Kuma's Paw-Paw Power!" Robin's mind is a scary, scary place... Anyway, the fight against Bartholomew Kuma begins in earnest and we see what his powers consist of: basically, he is able to repel anything with his hands (which have paw imprints on them)...from physical attacks to the air itself, creating the pressure attacks he uses. Furthermore, he seems to have an iron body that even Sanji cannot kick away (or is it because Sanji is too weak to mount much of an attack anymore?) and he is able to instantly move from one spot to the other (does he hit himself to do that or...). To summarize, he is a formidable foe and it becomes readily apparent that the Straw Hat Crew in their weakened state (and Luffy still being unconscious) are no match for him. In that regard, it is a fascinating episode to watch because one keeps asking how they will manage to get out of this. One badass moment is when all of Kuma's opponents flat out refuse to give Luffy to him in exchange for their own lives (even the Rolling Pirates which shows that they have honor to do this despite just having gotten their lives back sort of). Doesn't matter to him when he hits them with his greatest attack: the Ursus Shock, a high-pressure air bomb that packs quite a punch going by his destruction radius. The build-up is suitably unnerving seeing Kuma slowly press air together to create the bomb and when the explosion strikes, it shows the devastation it causes in great detail. Definitely a good episode. Manga Differences: -The usual scene extensions, but nothing major to report. Let us meet on tomorrow's date, laddies!

Episode 377: "The Pain Of My Crewmates Is My Pain! Zoro's Desperate Fight!"
Wow, that must surely be 2.0 on the Muta Scale on Zoro's part.
After the Ursus Shock, only Zoro remains standing and he manages to cut Kuma...revealing him to be a cyborg made by the world government or rather, Dr. Vegapunk, who really seems to be quite the elusive figure in the One Piece world.
More important than this however, is the character moment for Zoro in this episode. If one remembers all the way to the very beginning of the series, Zoro mentioned at that time that he won't let anybody get in the way of his ambition and if Luffy keeps him from it, he would kill him. Afer 375 episodes, Zoro has reached a point where he sees his ambition as worthless when he is unable to protect his captain and his friends, showing how much he has grown over the course of the series. It also shows that despite him often being at odds with Sanji, he does not let the latter sacrifice himself and knocks him out before Sanji can go farther. Perhaps this also might be because Zoro sees that a cook is indeed more useful to keep than a warrior but we might never find that out.
It is also interesting to see to what extent Kuma's power reaches, being able to "repel" exhaustion and fatigue out of a person's body. It's certainly an eerie image when he gives Zoro a taste of the pain he has to endure and the latter is jolted back and forth by it...even more impressive that Zoro managed to take the whole exhaustion/fatigue bubble into his body and avoid being instantly killed.
The episode also leaves us with a mystery...that Kuma seems to know Luffy's father, Dragon...what is the connection there?
All in all, a very good episode helped very much by the BGM, mood and picture composition used.
Manga Differences: -Scene extensions as usual, but nothing else to say.
See you in the day that follows today!

Episode 378: "The Promise From A Distant Day! The Pirates' Song And A Small Whale!"
I wonder if the Risky Borthers are worse gossips than Mr. Aaronson and Mr. Zowkowski...
We have now officially entered the wrapping-up part of the Thriller Bark Arc. The Rolling Pirates enjoy finally being able to sit in the Sun again, the Straw Hats are doing their own thing (Nami enjoying the treasure that Perona and her underlings left behind, Chopper tending to the injured Zoro, Luffy being hungry and only having cheese currently etc.)...and Moria, Absalom and Hogback escaping to who knows where (though we do learn more about the aftermath of the Ace/Blackbeard fight with Ace now being imprisoned in that Marine Prison that was mentioned a while ago; the plot thickens here).
All in all, it is a nice quiet episode with some sweet and enjoyable moments (Nami recognizing Captain Lola as being the one whose shadow belonged to the warthog Lola and proving that for friends Nami is willing to part with treasure, Sanji admonishing the Risky Brothers to keep quiet about what happened after the Ursus Shock since he does care about Zoro's feelings [although Robin manages to hear everything], the dinner that turns into a party with everyone being their silly selves).
The main part of this episode, however, is Brook who sings the first verse of "Binks' Booze" of which we have only heard a few bars until now, leading to a good conversation with Luffy where Brook finally learns that Laboon is still alive and waiting at the promised cape, causing him to burst into tears (and Brook's VA, Cho, really does a good job here, really capturing the feeling of hearing very good news that even drives the viewer to tears). With this, we segue into Brook's past which will cover the next few episodes. More on his past then.
All in all, a good and enjoyable episode here.
Manga Differences: -Again the usual scene extensions with no other major add-on appearing.
Until we meet again tomorrow!

Episode 379: "Brook's Past! A Sad Farewell With His Cheerful Comrade!" Dunno what I would rather have: Being woken up early due to him playing music or having to hear skeleton jokes during his stay...both does not sound pleasing (although he is pretty good at playing and singing). So, we finally delve in detail into Brook's past which is notable for a variety of reasons: -Going to a period that was even before Gold Roger's exploits which means that at that time, the One Piece was not a thing yet and the Grand Line was just a sailing journey around the world for most pirates. -Rather than having it be situated during the middle of the arc, his past comes at the end of it (then again, the brief flashback visit to Usopp's past also came at the end of the Captain Kuro arc). -We do not get to see Brook as a child as we have the other Straw Hat members, but already grown up at the age of 38. As said above, Brook at that time was the same jovial fellow he is today (save for not doing skeleton-related jokes all the time), being second-in-command of the Rumbar Pirates under Captain Yorkie. That crew seems to have a theme that they are very into music and Yorkie loves "Binks's Booze" especially. This episode is mostly about the crew's time with Laboon, both good (finding treasure, saving him from a sea king, Laboon saving those who've fallen overboard in turn) and sad (the decision by the crew to stop singing until Laboon goes away, due to them not wanting him to accompany them to the Grand Line since it's too dangerous for him, and Laboon's subsequent pleading and sad howls). Have to say, Laboon at that time was really a cutie. Ultimately, the episode continues to them reaching the Twin Capes, meeting Crocus and entrusting Laboon to him, telling him to wait until they return from the other side. A rather heart-hitting moment occurs when we see the happy Rumbar crew departing from the Capes and after an insert of "3 years later", we see their ship being a ghost ship now with Brook in his skeleton form the only survivor. A chilling and melancholic ending to what was a fairly upbeat episode until now. Still a good episode. Manga Differences: -After Crocus asks them if the whale is their pet and the crew realizing that Laboon followed them over the Reverse Mountain, the reunion between Brook and Laboon is a bit longer (including Brook remarking that Laboon has quite a few scratches on him which they tend to after). -We get to see the talk between Brook and Laboon where he (and later Captain Yorkie joining them) convince him to stay at the Cape and wait for their return. In the manga, we only get to see the very end of this convo (and Yorkie was never there at all). -The usual scene extensions. Tomorrow is a break for Manga Volume 52, so see you on Sunday!

Episode 380: "Bink's Booze! The Song That Connects The Past With The Present!"
Wow, Brook seems to have more in his head than previously expected!
A real rollercoaster of emotions in this episode. First, we get an impression of Brook in the years he had to spend on the ghost ship the Rumbar Pirates ship turned into. It certainly makes it apparent that all those years alone on the ship must have been hell for him, remembering his dead comrades and having to increasingly rely on silly things to pass his time as well as those times he falsely believed that everything was just a dream only to realize that it was harsh reality. And of course, singing Bink's Booze from time to time like when he met the Straw Hats for the first time.
Also sad was to see him part with Captain Yorkie who had to leave the crew due to contracting an unknown illness with the crew singing his favorite song a final time. This led to Brook becoming the new captain and leading them until their end.
The end as shown here is evoking very mixed emotions: of course, it's tragic to see them all meet their end regretting that they could not fulfil their promise to Laboon but when they get to sing "Bink's Booze" for the final time and it is interspersed with scenes from the present of the Straw Hat Crew and the Rolling Pirates singing along with Brook, one cannot help but feel uplifted by it (the anime even providing the text to sing along with it). The end juxtaposes this duality again with us slowly seeing how the Rumbar Pirates succumb to their fatal injuries one after another with only Brook tearfully left behind, only to see him smile in the knowledge that he will do anything to bring the Tone Dial recording he made of their last time singing together back to Laboon.
A very emotional and good episode indeed.
Manga Differences: -Captain Yorkie's scene saying goodbye to his men is longer in the anime with us seeing the men leaving his room, leaving only Brook behind. The transition between these two settings was a lot quicker in the manga. -Scene extensions.
Until 'morrow!

Episode 381: "A New Crewmate! The Musician, Humming Brook!"
And then there were nine...
The Thriller Bark arc (well, the manga portion at least since Crunchyroll lists the next three filler episodes still under the Thriller Bark moniker) comes to its conclusion with Brook joining the Straw Hats and becoming their official 9th member. I am sure that made Luffy very happy since he wanted a musician all this time (if we remember ever since the episodes in the East Blue all that time ago). And Brook certainly gets welcomed with open arms in the crew which is kinda adorable considering the fright he caused the others some 40 episodes ago. His crewmates also find their resting place on the Thriller Bark along with Zoro's sword Yubashiri. I would be more saddened by the latter if it wasn't so unremarkable in its history compared to Zoro's other two swords. At least his new sword Shusui has a bit more meat to its story than that.
In other notes, we learn about a new item called the Vivre Card which seems to be a really nifty tool, giving direction to where a person is as well as his/her energy meter (though its kinda gross that it is made from nail clippings of all things). Through this we find out that this card is what Ace gave Luffy all the way back in the Alabasta Arc...and that Ace's current life energy is pretty low. However, this does not bother Luffy that much right now (understandable since he has no knowledge about the current world events).
There is also a name dropped...the Pirate Empress Hancock...I wonder if we'll ever meet her? Or Captain Lola's mother (who must be surely a nice person given Lola's sweet disposition) that Nami now possesses a vivre card of, for that matter?
All in all, a good episode and a worthy final curtain over the main portion of the Thriller Bark...though what is that mysterious thing in the fog?
Manga Differences: -Nothing much to report here besides the usual scene extensions.
See y'all the day after today!

Episode 382: "The Slow-Slow Menace! 'Silver Fox' Foxy Returns!"
Dear lord, of all the villains in the existence of the show, they had to bring him back...
We are now entering, from the looks of it, a very short filler period (only three episodes by my count) which is surprising considering the very dense arc that is up ahead (at least I cannot see any feasible way to put filler in there unless they go the Bleach route of doing filler...and I don't want that to happen!). Still, less filler is A-OK in my book.
So, the Straw Hats are relaxing in a very interesting spa island resort that seems to have everything (including a cola and milk bath...the latter I can understand since Cleopatra bathed in milk and all, but cola? And Franky, you usually drink that stuff right?) until they get interrupted by Foxy and his cohorts, Porche and Hamburger. Thankfully, their involvement is only rudimentary and they are dealt with very quickly.
Most of the episode deals with a sister pair and their pet ocean tanuki (which looks kinda creepy tbh) and their search for the lost research of their father: one being eager to do it, the other mostly doing it for her sister since she resents her dad for leaving them. Gee, what a truly original plot (seems children who resent their parents seems a pretty stand-by plot the OP crew use for filler eps). Ultimately, the episode ends with the older sister being kidnapped by the owner of the spa island who is very interested in the father's research...
A decent episode mostly due to some fun scenes with the Straw Hats (seeing their individual desires fulfilled at the Spa Island, Sanji asking the ocean tanuki to transform into various female things with the hilarious results, Franky casually blasting Foxy and his entourage, Luffy, Usopp and Chopper reacting to the candy rain).

Episode 383: "The Great Scramble For Treasure! Collapse! Spa Island!"
Now where will people go to now for their cola and milk baths...?`
And so this 2-parter comes to an end with a better episode than yesterday. Loved the destruction caused by the Straw Hats done to Spa Island and I like that the ending really tricked me into thinking that the circular rainbow really was the treasure that the sisters' father talked about...only to learn that it is meant as a hint to a formular to create actual jewels. Have to say that I did not expect that. The long talk between the sisters about their father was also..not that bad. The VAs certainly gave it their all and the whole bit with the five-leaf clover was certainly adorable. Certainly made me care more than the whole Scorpion filler episode back in the Alabasta Arc that was in the same vein (well, it also having a father-sons conflict).
Baffling is mostly why they decided to bring back Foxy for this one: All he does in this ep is just lying uselessly around and then chasing the actual villain of this arc, the spa island proprietor, away. I mean they could as well have put a generic filler villain there as well for an henchman role since that is all Foxy's role basically amounted to.
Still, any episode that ends with Luffy destroying a whole island in the process with Third Gear cannot be anything less than good. Also liked the resolution with the father reuniting with his daughters and the funny ending with the Straw Hats' reward of one jewel getting lost in a candy rain (to Nami's obvious chagrin).
So, a good episode it is.

Episode 384: "Brook's Great Struggle! Is The Path To Become A True Comrade Rigorous?"
Odd. This ep almost feels like a calm before the storm...
A very rare type of episode. No major conflict, no part of a longer episode arc, no true villain...just a day in the life of the Straw Hat Crew when a lull in the weather leaves them grounded for a day. Though to be fair this episode is focused on the new crew member Brook and his desperate struggle to fit into his new crew after reading all about their adventures prior to arriving on the Thriler Bark...with the respective hilarious results. But the whole thing gains a bittersweet note that Brook reveals that after being alone for so long that he is afraid of not living up to the standards of being in the crew and possibly getting kicked out...something that gets him to bond with Robin.
The episode is very hilarious seeing Brook trying to be as helpful as possible only for it to blow up in his face (the best part is him having to pee while meditating with Zoro but unable to get up since his legs fell asleep in the meditation position...leading to a foreseeable reaction by Zoro) and in general it makes you feel relaxed watching an episode with the Straw Hats just having "time off" so to speak which is not bad since they are such a colorful variety of characters that it makes even a quiet episode like this fun to watch. Besides, we get a wonderful character episode for Brook and why not?
All in all, a very good episode. If more filler episodes were like this one, I'll bet they would be more highly regarded.
With this ep, the Thriller Bark Arc also officially ends on Crunchyroll and we will enter a new arc next. Wonder what that'll bring...

Episode 385: "Arriving At Halfway Through The Grand Line! The Red Line!"
I guess those horror pears were the only things not rotten on the Thriller Bark.
With this episode, we enter a new arc again, the Summit War Arc which is longer than the previous recordholder (131 episodes to the Water Seven arc's 118), so this should be interesting. And the first episode certainly opens up on a historic note with the Straw Hats coming across the Red Line again, indicating that they have reached the half-way point in their journey across the Grand Line. To get there, however, they had one final hurdle to climb: the serpent currents that were certainly some fierce forces of nature to behold. But nothing that the Straw Hat Crew could not manage.
The bigger problem they encounter though is how to get to Fishman Island from where they are which leaves them bamboozled. This rather serious problem is counteracted though with some fun moments (Chopper and Usopp enjoying the paddling pool, Brook's usual pun-ishment which is starting to grow on me instead of being annoying as well as Nami's reaction to it. After coming across a sea monster (which Luffy easily defeats), the crew gets treated to something it spits out...a talking glove and a...mermaid?!
All in all, it is a good episode again with a nice action set piece in the serpent currents mixed with some light-heartedness and some intrigue in the scene at Marie Jois (though Luffy's grandpa makes sure that it is not too serious as well). We shall see what this new pair shall bring.
Manga Differences: -This is something interesting I noted: *In between the scene at Marie Jois and the Straw Hats arriving at the Red Line, there were three panels in the manga featuring the Straw Hats encountering a circular rainbow, a huge ocean raccoon dog and serpent currents. Now they do encounter all those things in the anime as well, but here the anime makers incorporated them into the filler material and gave them a bigger role (the circular rainbow and an ocean raccoon dog [albeit mini-sized] in the Spa Island 2-parter and the serpent currents in this ep). Certainly a neat way to incorperate these elements into filler (though I'd still rather see the Chapter Cover Page Stories getting an anime treatment). -The scene at Marie Jois omits the only sentence spoked by Kuma in that scene for some reason. -Besides them being a presence in one panel in the manga, the whole sequence with the serpent currents until they get to the Red Line is filler material. -Most of the glove's talk with the mermaid before she realizes that she landed on Sanji is filler material.
