If we're speaking honestly VR's basically doomed to underperform till perv based technology gets virtual sex ideal for a certain crowd.
Actually not even ideal, just basically to the point where there's enough kind of people going "Yeah, I'm gonna get some use out of this."

I wouldn't say it's bombed so much as getting off to a very slow start. I still think the technology is going to be the future, but it's still at that point where it's really niche, expensive, and there's also no real killer apps for the platform.

Na. We have to give it 2 years before we can make that decision. If they stop making games for it like they did the Vita and just act like it don't exist than yea it bombed but I can't see that happening. With games like COD essentially being the best fit for that I can't see the VR for PS4 not getting it's value from that alone for most players

I thought we weren't allowed to make threads about Vince Russo.

It hasn't bombed so much as it's still relatively early days. I have PlayStation VR and games like Job Simulator, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, and Superhot are a lot of fun. It's just one of those things where it'll take time for stuff to get released for it.

I think it honestly outperformed what a lot of people expected from it, but it's kinda in a Sega CD territory of, "Neat, but it's not really there yet". It has some hard limits built into it.

At least it brought us these episodes of UpUpDownDown (in which, Sami Zayn says VR is the future)

I tried out a demo for it for PS4 at Best Buy a couple months ago, and man it was cool. Also been to some spots in Orange Countey where they strap you up and you can walk around a designated area. Really cool immersive stuff, so here's hoping it's eventually more accessible.

I'd totally get VR for my PS4 if I didn't have bills and such. It's way too expensive to get into casually and the library isn't all that great to support it. Like the most exciting stuff to be used for it to me will be Skyrim and Fallout 4 VR, stuff that's been out forever (Skyrim especially). Though I have to say Overwatch would be amazing in VR (just a personal wish lol)

I'm convinced VR won't be a major thing until they perfect feedback. I don't mean vibrations and stuff. I mean full on "your hand stops because it's touching a virtual object". One of the main things that sucks with VR is your body can get way out of synch with your actions because of that lack of feedback. Sword fighting, for example, is a popular VR tech demo but it always blows ass.

I'd love to get into the VR but damn it's expensive, if the rift lowered to a reasonable price then I'd be tempted to grab one.
I think price is an issue for many people

Personally, I worry too much about someone kicking me in the nuts while I'm immersed in the VR experience to try it out. It needs some kind of proximity alarm or something.

I want a PS:VR, (have to play RE7 on it!) but I can't take that price plunge. The one thing that did kind of annoy me about PS VR is, unless you already have them for whatever reason, you don't even get everything you need for it if you buy the standalone headset. You can technically get away with not having the Move controllers for a few of the games; Job Simulator and Superhot, for example, require them while Rush of Blood doesn't (even though you'd really want to be using them). You can also kind of get away with not having the camera if you only want to use Cinematic Mode and not play any VR games at all, but these things really should've been included in the base package. It's weird how necessary components of the unit aren't sold unless you buy a bundle which adds $100 to the price tag and has one game included (also a demo disc, but still). I dunno, I still love PS VR and all, but it was slightly annoying. Personally, I'm not even sure what the use of a PS4 camera without VR even is for the majority of people to where they wouldn't include it. I mean, the best use I know of for it is Until Dawn using it to take a picture of you during jump scares.
