We picked her up today, she's called Kodi. Very timid. Our other rescue cat Alfi, wasn't too impressed. This was basically the first meeting, Alfi is the black cat, Kodi black and white. They just stared at each other for a while, occasionally exchanging slow blinks and growls. Anyway, as the day went on she grew in confidence and Alfi is starting to accept her (on his terms!) and this is her about an hour ago.

One more cat adopted from shelters is one less cat euthanized due to overcrowded shelters. Good on you, man.

We took on two cats when I was a kid; they tolerated each other, looked out for one another, fought one another...pretty much what cats do! Kudos for giving a cat a home, enjoy your new addition.

* Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! *
Reminds me of when we got a new kitten and at first, the old cat we have (well, my parents have since I don't live with them any more) was very paranoid about this intruder on her territory. At first, she avoided her (which wasn't easy considering the kitten is very curious and always wanted to go check on her) and usually hissed at her. For a while, she didn't even go downstairs (where the kitten usually was as long as she was too small to climb the stairs) except for very short trips to the kitchen. But over time, she became more accepting of the new cat and now she doesn't mind her being around. Sometimes they even play together, though the old one still slaps her when the younger one gets too rowdy (as one of her favourite games is too jump the older one, seemingly not realizing that she's not a tiny kitten any more).

Day 2 didn't start too well. Alfi went out and didn't come back for a long time and Kodi spent most of the day hiding behind the sofa but tonight I think we made some progress. Kodi has ventured out from behind the sofa (and hasn't gone back) and they were both looking at each other from across the room for a long time. No fighting, a bit of growling but they seem to be coming to an understanding slowly but surely.

My good lady and I got a rescue cat 2 months ago. She's the silliest and most hyper cat I've seen but we love her. She has a thing for attacking our feet and ankles haha

Beautiful! We have two cats that we rescued from the street. Always glad to see someone give a cat a great home.
