Hello, I bought a new Dell power supply a few weeks ago after I got the blinking amber light of doom I had managed to replace the power supply a few years ago, however in my haste to remove the old supply I forgot to take pictures of where all the cables go and now I am completely lost. I have tried plugging it up but I keep getting a message of "drive one not found Serial ATA and SATA1. It's got a lot of cords that I don't remember on the old power supply labeled from P1 through P9. If anyone could give me a simple explanation of how to plug these cords up I would really appreciate it because I don't want to have to buy a new computer. Thank you very much
I have a Dell OptiPlex 755 mini tower, I can't get help anywhere else and I'm starting to get desperate

A SATA hard drive requires 2 cables to be connected: a broad one to supply power to the drive, and a small one that enables data to be transferred to/from the hard drive.
In your case, one (or both) of the cables is not properly connected. If they seem to be connected in the same manner that your DVD / Blu-Ray drive is connected, there's the possibility that you damaged the connectors on one of those drives while messing with the new PSU.
SATA power connectors are surprisingly easy to break because they're made of such thin plastic.
On an unrelated note, I suggest you build your own desktop machine next time rather than buy a pre-made one. In particular, do not buy pre-made computers from companies that rig their machines with motherboards that only support terribly expensive proprietary parts, such as Dell, HP, IBM/Lenovo, etc.
