I'm not going to include the final four, because they are already established nor older talent. Who make the biggest jump to moving up the card and establishing themselves in the G1 this year? My personal choice is EVIL, just because he went from a guy I thought was okay and a solid mid-carder to someone I can buy as a main eventer. But I can definitely see strong cases for Juice, Micheal Elgin and Zack Sabre Jr. as well.

EVIL and Sabre were the two guys who felt like they broke out. Juice is a good choice, but he went from over resilient underdog babyface to over resilient underdog babyface with two big singles wins (Omega & Elgin). EVIL was the first guy to pin in Okada in over a year and had a strong showing in terms of points, while Sabre made Tanahashi tap out twice and put himself on the map in NJPW.

It's a tough call. EVIL gets the big win that sets him up to maybe be a main eventer while ZSJ gets proven as a heavyweight and that he can pick up a win over pretty much anyone. They both looked real good.

ZSJ is someone who really moved up in my estimation, after being lukewarm on him in the Cruiserweight tourney and some other exposure to him. I think he really helped sell the sadist side of his style in the tourney, and it was nice seeing someone else in Suzuki-Gun delivering and not just the main man himself.
EVIL really delivered as well, but I sure hope he didn't overdo it and wreck his body.
I voted Juice, but I think a great case can be made for several of them.

I voted for Juice Robinson, but yeah, it was a tough choice. I just feel like the fan base is there for Juice and he can only go up.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Tama Tonga improved a lot in my eyes or it possibly was because Omega carried him to a great match.
I think he's auditioning for a wwe run. It irks me that he's cuts f***ing promos in Japan but they're good.

See, I think the opposite about ZSJ and selling his style. He just emotes so, so little, and not in a cool ice-man way just in a following-the-routine way, IMO, and so many of his mannerisms in the ring annoy me and come across as weak or weird. He's someone I should love, but I just really can't get onboard with the idea that he's Suzuki's heir. EVIL, on the other hand, I came into the tournament thinking- "Who is this goof, he looks so freaking silly" and came out thinking "Damn, this guy is a hella wrestler". Juice Robinson too, all I knew him as beforehand was an NXT flop, and now I'm like "Huh, this kid has potential". But I wish he'd get a name change, it feels a bit midcard-glass-ceiling. Likewise, Michael Elgin went from "Oh, that hoss from the indies" to "Oh damn, he's like Mike Awesome or Bam Bam now", and SANADA was another guy like EVIL who I knew nothing about but really stood out to me. Guys like Ibushi I already knew were great. Overall Elgin personally impressed me the most, but EVIL or Juice probably raised their stock the most overall in the company....Imma go with Juice, just because from what I gather from those more familiar with the product EVIL was always on this path, while Juice really has come into his own.

But I did think the entire time, this guy should go to WWE and become a star. His promos and mannerisms were on point, in this tournament he build a great character for himself.
