I know storms are unpredictable in nature. But is there a reason why that this hurricane is going to stall out once hitting land? I thought most hurricanes lose strength and speed up once making landfall? Not always the case. In Florida there's been a couple that once they hit land just kept on going (Donna some decades ago, Hurricane Charley in 2004 or 05) Stay safe you guys. I'm blessed that I wasn't in Florida(or in the wrong area of Florida) when the bad ones hit.

Looking at it now I'm not sure that it's going to hang around all week like the original forecast was saying.... All we can do is hope at this point

I had family vacationing in San Antonio that left there this morning, they wanted to go to Galveston (this was before Harvey was an issue) for a few days but I talked them out of it thank God. Had some in Portland that got the mandatory evacuation order and went to Copperas Cove, I just hope they have some to go back too.
Hell, I am east of Dallas and they are putting us at 1-3 inches from this storm and with the rain we've gotten over the last few days, we'll probably have some flooding here too.

I hope everyone stays safe.
Also, I can imagine an announcer saying " coming to the ring , Hurricane Harvey!"
Jr:" he's a force to be reckoned with, King."

Theres absolutely nothing to move this storm along. If anything it looks WORSE for it hanging around well into Wednesday at this point.
Theres already reports of buildings down and people trapped.

This whole thing is giving me some bad flashbacks to when Long Island had to deal with Hurricane Sandy a few years back. Stay safe, you guys.

I know a few people in Texas, thankfully they're more inland so they should hopefully be safe.

I remember the trains here in the city being flooded and shit and people who had their cars parked underground having them shits completely flooded

On the Weather Channel they stated what makes it worse is that the Gulf of Mexico is providing so much fuel for it in the process while it's just hanging around.
