Well I can see why Nordholm is trying for a network. However, like others here I wonder if profits will cover cost. You got to ask though why if you want to make money would you go into the wrestling business. The Fight Network by bringing in all these wredtling promotions is trying to have content, but TNA/GFW is such a tainted brand.

Lets see, you didn't know wrestling wouldn't be difficult? Maybe you should research before you brought in? Reduce cost and make money: Yeah well you under the format of no ticket sales, no Merchandise at tappings, and once in a while run PPVs nobody buys since the company butchered the PPVs. Not Sell but investing: In wrestling you have to do both. You have to sell your company to me as a fan on giving me a reason to care or why I should watch, order anything from a T-shirt, network, or PPV. Invests yes, you have to grow your fan base and get the world out. Spend more to grow revenues: No duh, you gotta get to the point of lettings fans know just who you are as a company to the general wrestling fan. You have to get the big 3 going, Ticket revenue, Merchandise sales, and however you tend on getting your PPV events sold. 7.99 for only 900 hours of Impact? Doing math that not even the PPVs, WEEKLY PPVS, and all the Library. Two dollars more, I can get the WWE network with WAY MORE content. That is a problem this company always had. Over pricing things that turns you fans away. For 7.99, it should be EVERYTHING and whatever else you can get from other libraries. WWE has EVERY PPV they have done. Every WCW and ECW PPVs they done. Most of that companies TV. A bunch of other companies like Mid South and ext. Yeah good luck selling that when the WWE had a slow start selling theirs. I don't know how much they have but if that Global Wrestling Network stuff was 5 bucks and they had all the TNA library, I would get it, why not. Cause I'm mainly interested in the old stuff, seeing all the great matches with AJ, Daniels, etc... with the WWE Network it's great value cause you also have the monthly PPVs but it's funny cause having them is almost a detriment when you don't care about the current stuff. Streaming services like this to me almost works better as a library/nostlagia thing only. I think the WWE should have kept the real PPVs especially not include Mania in the package. Yeah it wouldn't be that bad but doing the math, it's not all there content which is silly.

If WWE Network was an exclusively archive-based product it would have run at a loss so hard that it would have bombed inside of four months. Monthly PPVs are what drive the business and most of its viewer figures, which is what's going to f*** TNA so hard here; unless they run actual monthly PPVs instead of One Night Only shows nobody cares about, there's going to be almost nothing for the very small userbase to actually care about.

Yeah, $7.99 a month isn't going to work at all if the only new content being added is weekly episodes of Impact as nobody's going to care enough for that, plus there's way too much of Impact's history available free and legal online. And no, having one million YouTube subscribers won't translate to even a small fraction of that group dropping money by the month for your product; people pointed out WWE's numbers on that front before, how about 1/10th of their YouTube subscriber number actually subscribes to the WWE Network, and I could semi see an argument that "maybe WWE has more casual fans than a company like GFW does at this point" and thus they might think they're more likely to get a bigger fraction, but again...since when have TNA/Impact/GFW fans been known to drop much in the way of money to actually see their product? Occasional house shows and PPVs in the past, sure, but never in huge amounts and never with much frequency. Plus WWE was able to sell the Network as a discount to fans: given that even poor buyrates for WWE tended to still hover around six figures, there was clearly a base of people interested in buying PPVs now and again who could be sold on the idea that $10 a month for every show (WM and the big ones included) was better than $40-$60 in any given month. GFW currently has no buyrate base, and didn't even have much of one in Impact's heyday, so there's no hook there for people to jump at.
That said, if they shift gears and announce soon that they'll be an official streaming service for Pro Wrestling NOAH I'll give serious thought to buying in...but there's no indication that'll be happening at all.

Not just that; if you look at the Youtube figures, they're even worse. WWE can get millions of people to watch their show, and then when they post something onto Youtube, depending on who's in it, it can get from a hundred thousand to over a million views. for just a spliced up clip version of something. Nakamura/Orton from Smackdown this week has 1.2 million views, while the highest viewed clip for Impact from this week seems to be a tenth of that, with most wildly vacillating between a couple dozen thousand or even just a couple thousand. On WWE's channel, even random filler like "Charlotte does a media event in China" gets more than most of Impact's segments. This does not look like "We have a million fans to mobilize" to me, and the fact that videos hyping old footage of guys now in WWE are getting more views than shit about their top champion really only helps solidify how much of a f***ing joke this idea is.

So you see say usually 1.2 million and now it's 1.5, I don't think you get great value when Mania comes you should get the maximum revenues. Meanwhile they could have kept Mania on PPV but make sure you raise that price. People are gonna order it no matter what.

nobody will renew after the first month Especially if the first month is free. Remember what ungrateful cheapskates TNA diehards are. So they will make the cancel subscription link super difficult to find, and when you do find it... the link will lead to a 403 Forbidden page ... which they won't fix for months .

People don't always order Mania no matter what, and it doesn't usually get 1.2 million buys at all; only the two most bought Wrestlemanias ever broke 1.2 million. The PPV model doesn't actually get them that much more money over the Network due to how steep the provider's cut was, and any less money made off Mania is more than made up for year round. If they said "You get every PPV except for the big one" it wouldn't have gone over too well anyway.

Bryan Alvarez put it best, TNA fans don't like spending money they don't buy merch and they don't buy ppvs.
Keep in mind that despite having a constant viewership of over a million people in spike tv, TNA's ppvs for the most part averaged ten thousand buys and in some cases five thousand buys.
If they did such a paltry sum with one million viewers imagine how many subscriptions they'll sell with three hundred thousand viewers, yeah about jack shit.

Not to mention the fact that despite the WWE being the biggest name in wrestling, even they've been having issues in trying to keep and attract new subscribers to the WWE Network. And they've got footage from multiple federations throughout the years.

In short, Bob had no idea what he was getting into, has no idea what he is doing, and now is in way over his head with this mess. Nordholm is just a lawyer and by his own admission the last time he saw wrestling was with his grandma when he was a kid. The guy just entered a business that prey on the weak and the money marks. Guy probably thinks he's doing a great job because the other wrestling people tell him what he wants to hear.
