"Follow me for this story section! I'll walk faster than you walk, but slower than you run! Have fun keeping up!" Ugh, that bloody tour of Shattrath City, or the similar tour of the Caverns of Time back during The Burning Crusade. I just had the same issue in Suramar during Legion. Taking a tour of a wine Vinyard and constantly running and stopping, so damn annoying. I forgot if it was one of the Hulk games or Wolverine (probably both) but the games had you rampaging through every level until boom stealth mission. I think with the Hulk game you're playing as Banner the last person I want to play as in a Hulk game.

Personally I tend to hate "this building/dungeon is falling apart! Escape!". It always messes with my anxiety. Although there are a few good examples. I always make a point of taking my time escaping in Old Republic missions with exploding bases, etc, because as an MMO, they don't really have a good way of enforcing a time limit. It makes it funny to go through my inventory, dance, etc, while I am surrounded by rubble and fire.

Congratulations, you have achieved power level 78.
Now you have unlocked/can purchase/craft the greatest weapons in the game and defeat all your enemies.
Oh, you already finished the game at level 22? Thus rendering the strongest weapons that are only attainable long after you've already beat the game utterly pointless?
Well....shit.

Forced vehicle sections, generally speaking vehicles aren't that fun to use in games where you're mostly on foot.

I never finished that game because of the boat mission towards the end where you have to jump through the rings (I think? Been awhile). The RC Helicopter bombing isn't too bad. The way to do it is work from top down, meaning go all the way to the top and believe me, it's much easier. Stick to the staircase and watch the map for which blip is on that floor. The boat challenge for Umberto is ridiculously difficult though. You have to be so precise in order to beat it. If you miss just one checkpoint, you may as well reset. The Driver mission was a pain too, until I learned to just start the race with a 2 star wanted level, which Hillary is not prepared for.Speaking of GTA missions, I'm really not a fan of anything timed. San Andreas is notorious for giving just enough time to finish something. The gang wars were pretty flawed too. The Driver was really aggravating, but became much easier if you switch cars. Park a Hotring Racer or Cheetah by the first turn before you start the race.

The first Fable was pretty awful about doing that. I basically only picked the Sword of Aeons once just to do it, since it's pointless. Nothing worth using it on, and time stop is so good that you don't really need anything better than the much more available weapons.

My dirt worst thing in video games isn't even an in game mechanic. Sod off, I already have a Steam account, why do I need more always online DRM?

Ice puzzles and water levels can be good. They're usually not, though. When making one, please try and make sure to not be wasting everyone's f***ing time, please, developers. You can either pull it off with interesting physics and design, or you can't.
I'm including excellent games in that, too. The ice physics in Link to the Past suck, and so do Link's swimming controls, which thankfully is usually only used in brief spurts.

Your partner has to access the computer! Too bad the computer is in this monster closet and you have to defend him.

"Defend the glowing target for X amount of minutes from constant attack from multiple directions" missions Ugh, I immediately thought of Infamous for PS3. One mission has your character protecting a crate of medical supplies from attack. Took me FOREVER to finish and it was annoying as hell.

You know that place you just left were I had you kill like 50 dudes, plant bombs and poison the water? I need you to go back there to kill the Boss. Oh yeah, and all those guys have long since respawned.

Jak and Daxter the precursor legacy. Every quest: collect 100 orbs. Bonus level: collect 100 more orbs.

Having the main character start out with an ability, then within the first few hours, UPGRADING that ability by having you complete a not-at-all-related-to-the-plot sidegame, then having the upgraded ability be required to complete the game.
For example: in Ocarina Of Time, Link can dive underwater for three seconds. You use this ability one time in the Deku Tree and that’s about it. Then you get to the Zora’s Domain, and while you’re wandering around wondering what the f*** to do, you find a side game to upgrade that diving ability (that you’ve never needed). Now you can dive for SIX seconds. Which you have to do to go through the door to Lake Hylia and find the bottle with a letter in it to continue the game. Then you CONTINUE TO NEVER DIVE UNDERWATER FOR ANYTHING. Why? Why is that a thing? Just put the bottle where you can already reach it. Or start out with the six-second dive. Or something. Don’t give me an ability just to turn around and tell me that ability isn’t good enough.

New in game mechanic that introduced in the final boss. A final boss should be a test of what you have learned, not how well you can manage a new mechanic out of the blue.

RC Mission ins San Andreas are much, much worse. Am I really the first to call out THAT mission specifically? Vice City helicopter missions are pretty easy. The plane missions on the other hand...either blowing up the Cuban boats with the RC plane or piloting the real plane through buildings and trees. And if there's one thing more frustrating than planes, it's boats. Either of the two timed boat missions are killers for me. Still trying to alpha to omega VC, I'm coming up on 5 years trying.

"All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ!" I quit the game over that f***ing mission. It broke my mind. I just didn’t understand. It’s a train!!! It can’t hide.

More than a scenario that I hate, I usually go the other way around: oh we have this really cool mechanic that we made a specific section for. Literally just that section. The mechanic is useless after that.
Oh, and I've grown to hate the "cutscene, walk a bit, action set piece, walk some more, action set piece, cutscene" cycle.
