I'mma be out of her 95%+ of the time from tomorrow morning, as I'm going on my trip to New York - 10 days in my favourite place on earth. Been there a few times, but always up for new stuff - anyone got any suggestions for stuff to do?

See a Broadway show, you can get remaindered tix in Times Square.
I am actually interested in seeing Ground Zero myself, not everyone's cup of tea.

You and D couldn't have planned a NYC trip together since you two are both going/have gone so close to each other time wise? Can you imagine the trouble you two would have gotten into? Anyway, have fun, and I don't really have any suggestions since I've never been. i'm sure you'll find something to do.

Go to Little Italy. You can get an awesome (and ginormous) NY-style pizza at one of the little hole-in-the-wall pizza joints, and stare at beautiful women walking by while you eat.
FAO Schwarz is cool, even if the toys are overpriced.
I've always enjoyed the Empire State Building, because you can actually feel the building sway a bit in the wind when you're on the 86th floor.
But man, the city isn't as colorful as I remember it. Used to be able to see pimps and hoes and all kinds of raunch. Now its all high-priced bistros and delis and boutiques.
Oh, and the Carnegie Deli rules. Best Turkey Club I've ever had in my life. The sandwich was honestly about a foot high, that's how much stuff they stack on it. Go for the food, stay for the lousy service (disgruntled wannabe actors who haven't gotten their break on Broadway yet).

Kidnap an aspiring young actress and carry her up the empire state building.

See if CBGB is still open. Because it won't be for long.

Feh, I don't like CBGBs - overhyped, overrated, and since about 1983, just plain... over. Going to see Sia (from Zero 7) and more importantly, Inara George's newish project The Bird and the Bee at the Bowery Ballroom. Going to a comedy night in the village, and to meet a couple of people I know through work. Also, going on the Kenny Kramer Seinfeld tour, which should be fun. Rest of the time, just wandering, and going out for drinks. Anyone in NYC wants to meet up, just email me - email is in my sig.
Would have been cool if DDD and I had had overlapping visits - we got drunk enough in London, just think how sloshed we could get in New York. However, I'm going with my friend/ex Emma, and DDD would just mack on her and her 36 GGs.

They've offered to put me up a few times, I could see if they'd mind having houseguests. They have roofrights in a condo so essentially they've built a second floor to their condo and don't use the first floor except for the stairs. Free wireless, too.

spend some time in the village. Excellent shopping, funny looking people (i do fall into that category) and some awesome sights. A throwback to the old school manhatten. Washington Square park is a must, and all the places around it are awesome. And, if you wanna see wrestling, and dont mind coming into brooklyn (only a few stops away by train), ill be wrestling tomorrow (saturday) night.

Thanks for the offer, Psy, but I've rented an apartment on 22nd and 8th - always find Chelsea pretty convenient, been staying there for years.
Also, thanks for the info, Slick, but jet lag is going to mean I'm asleep by 1900 or so tomorrow night.

I worked around Bryant Park over the summer, very nice place, beautiful women galore. I like going to the Museum of Natural History if I get the chance. 59th an Lexington Bloomingdales as well see Bryant Park. I wish I still lived in Queens instead of Westchester.

Two words: Grant's Tomb.
And the Metropolitan Museum of Art is always great if you're into that stuff. I'd give anything to go again. And to live in New York in general even though it costs an arm, a leg and your spleen to live there now.
