Bob, take this as a win, now nobody will associate you with this movie

It was trying to be 4 different types of movies at once but not completely terrible. I had less rage moments than I did watching Apocalypse. A few cringeworthy lines if you're a fan of the comics. Anya Taylor Joy is the breakout star of this. And she's broken out IRL since this movie was shot. Pretty cool!

I forget what film it was I saw at the cinema before lockdown but there was a trailer for that Black Widow, Black Scorpion, Red Socrpion?? I forget, with the dad from Stranger Things as a comedy Russian guy, who's the market for that? Like I don't have even a passing interest in Marvel films but i'll usually go to one to hang out with friends, and holy god, it looked like an airline commercial, like I get there's enough money to colonize Saturn but this thread reminded me, sorry. They need to wind some of these awful ideas back, they learned their lesson with Star Wars and somehow managed to do something impossible with the Boba Fett thing by not going MOVIE MOVIE GO GO JOKES GO like even Blankman is more appealing

I was probably happy to be back in a theater, but it was fine.
The movie was a bit of a mess, but the leads did a good job with what they were given.
It was better than apocalypse and dark Phoenix that’s for sure.

New Mutants has nothing to do with Marvel Studios, this was entirely a Fox production if it weren't for alleged contractual obligations this likely would never have seen theatrical release.

It’d honestly have been a Disney+ exclusive around the time Artemis Fowl was if it wasn’t for the contract obligations. Could still be considering but still.

Yeah, as I said earlier I wouldn't be terribly surprised if like next week it's already out of theaters.

Truthfully I did not hate this anywhere as much as the critics and others are tearing it apart.
My biggest gripe with the movie is that...nothing really happens for like 90% of the movie , it wholely feels like the beginning of what was suppose to be a multi series film.
If not for Anya Taylor this would be the most boring "super hero" movie I had ever seen.

Looking at a plot synopsis it kind of just sounds like a shitty version of School-Live and I have no idea how they did that without having zombies in it.

Looks like their mutant power was to lay a giant egg.
3.1 million off a 67 million budget.

If I knew how to put a Jay Sherman gif on this trash pile, I would. It's all well casted outside of Roberto (since the geopolitical background is kinda part of his character), the story made no sense, the references are a waste, and fox is dumb on being so deadset on getting this out to the masses

Apparently Bob McLeod caught enough heat from supporters of the movie that he's had to publish a come down.

this was Disney washing their hands of this.
New Mutants already lost it's money, it's on the books for Fox from years ago.
