Probably my favorite Freddy film after Freddy 2. I see a typo...you put a 2 at the end of your sentence, I'm sure by accident. Nope

I'm always tempted to rank part 3 above the first one. Love the dream sequences and special effects. There's also a tinge of sadness to the film. Something about the helplessness of the kids' plight and the continual ignorance of the adults adds an emotional layer to it. One thing I like about the NOES films is how they often feel just as much like dark teen dramas as they do slasher flicks. They touch upon a lot of issues that wouldn't be out of place on an episode of Degrassi (suicide, pregnancy, substance abuse, etc.). Does kinda make me wish 2 had committed a bit more and had it be dealing with the topic of homosexuality, but I guess it was a different time.

I prefer to view it with the gay subtext anyway, regardless of their intentions. There's so much potential in a film about the horror of being a closeted gay teen in a time of peak AIDS paranoia. If there's any film in the series that needs to be remade, it's part 2.
