Rewatching this now and I just realized Gable is the one who jumped Jason Jordan in the locker room. He even pushed Rusev so that he could get to him first. That’s good shit. The only thing better would have been if he was shouting at him "WHO'S YOUR DADDY, HUH? WHO'S YOUR DADDY? I'M YOUR DADDY NOW" while he was doing it.

Yeah, I originally noticed Gable on Jordan during the beatdown, so I thought he might actually have been lying on him to keep him from getting hit. But on the rewatch, he was actually his first attacker. Shane must have really gotten to these guys. In some semblance of storyline continuity, New Day must have been thrilled to get Dash Wilder in the heel locker room.

This sucked. Wrecked a bunch of characters for the sake of crash TV bullshit.
A prime example of only caring about "moments" and not actual good storytelling.

That said, if Sting were still active, Smackdown would be an amazing time to revive the Sting in a Sting mask trick. Next week, Kurt Angle is high-fiving a fan wearing a Sin Cara mask, only for the fan to attack and remove the mask, revealing....Dolph Ziggler? It just wouldn't be the same. The genius of the Sting moment was that he looked exactly the same and the only difference was a cheap plastic mask. It was so ridiculous that it was absolutely brilliant. Next level brilliant. But yeah, it would have made a lot more sense if they'd only brought heels for this. Gable and Becky being bloodthirsty and jumping people? That definitely seems out of characters. My only guess for why the Bludgeon brothers weren't there is that so far they've only had the vignette and likely want to maintain an aura that might be ruined by the smackdown shirts. That said, there were so many people in the group that didn't make a great deal of sense and there were several missing that should have been there. Still, as neat as it was to watch, I don't see the logic. They're going to have to come up with a damn good reason for this, which they won't.

Ill still enjoy this for what it is (until THE BIG DAWG MAKES THE SAVE FOR THE BRAND AND PEOPLE HE LOVES) but god damn id believe this a bit more if Smackdown didn't suck major ass all year.
Speaking of Roman, get ready them to rebook the Survivor Series 2014 hope spot for the guy who was originally going to get it in the first place.

Odd seeing Ziggler fighting alongside Rusev, Corbin, AJ, Nakamura, Roode basically everyone who has murked him and ruined his career over the past couple of years, even eternal rival Kofi was his partner. I hope if him and Big E are on the SD side they give a brief nod to their previous partnership. Bonus points if during a backstage skit before the fight Ziggler and Big E are having a trip down memory lane and AJ walks into shot "hey, you remind us of someone".

This is like Crips vs Bloods.
Raw people can't say any words that start with the letter 'S'.

It's cracking me up that the 'Lone Wolf' Baron Corbin looks the most quietly satisfied to be part of a group.

Well I'll be damned. That was pretty great.
So much wrong in that Smackdown "gang" picture but it's refreshing. If you're gonna embrace the Raw vs. Smackdown rivalry, that's pretty much how you should do it.
Does this basically overwrite all the ongoing feuds with these people until SurSer?

And tomorrow these folks are going back to killing each other. But once a week for the next month, they'll be a unit. That’s what I don’t understand. I know we’re all supposed to presume this is some weird out of continuity thing (which is dumb because it feels like we’re supposed to have that moment every month now, especially Survivor Series time) but then why should I then take it seriously when they feud again when they’re a unit because of some weird brand loyalty thing that has literally never been established right now? There’s never really been tension or words being shot at people, Raw never took shots at Smackdown, no segments involved Smackdown being pissed about Raw’s treatment or anything. It just happened and, unless Raw responds I’m kind tomorrow, it won’t mean very much. And then, like you said, they’ll all still feud with each other after that like they didn’t just team up to beat up another brand for no reason. It’s ridiculous and makes the product seem meaningless. I felt last night's segment was the polar opposite of meaningless. To me, it's totally plausible that even outside of their intershow rivalries, the Smackdown and Raw rosters would be itching at the chance to rattle the other locker room. A couple weeks of trash talk would have been more than enough. And even if they didn't, I can see how this came to be. Even though I was joking about "heel Smackdown " last night, I don't really see SD's invasion as a roster-wide heel turn so much as it is the equivalent of a kid going into their brother's room and kicking over their toys. There's no sense of "why, Shinsuke? Why, New Day?" here that there would be with some of the nastier acts Triple H or Jake Roberts committed. I don't believe the Smackdown characters were compromised at all. The SD faces ideally should be able to take part in things like this. This angle isn't about morals or good vs. evil, it's two teams of athletes trying to gain the upper hand. So far, I'm excited about this program.
