I'm sure the buildup to The Miz vs. Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar will save the show.

when a third of your audience says "meh, screw this" it's more than just "the third hour is late adn we accept that people tune out". Half the loss was in hour two which has been their bread and butter as of late and the time when they put their big guns out.

I blame Kane.

this is kind of amusing since the nexus-like beatdown of the raw roster which i'm sure was planned to be a ratings grabber, failed because about 1/4 of the viewers had already changed the channel at that point.

This is what happens when you job out Balor for no reason.

They should have had the invasion at the beginning of the show and continued on.

Great Opening Match, the rest of the show dipped. I imagine when Balor lost to Kane clean, and then Asuka had a literal Sunday repeat match, and then Jason Jordan decided to exist again, people started tuning the hell out.
On top of that the whole Brock hook they seem to have or believe they have, ended in the second hour too. Your third hour hook being "ANGLE ANNOUNCES A TEAM" isn't really that appealing, no one knew the invasion stuff was happening so yeah... doesn't surprise me. Survivor Series doesn't really give off the aura of "BOY I NEED TO SEE THAT" right now...

They could’ve announced the invasion segment in advance and the viewership likely wouldn’t have been much better. The show isn’t good enough to get people invested enough to stick with the whole thing, especially when anything missed could be easily watched on YouTube the next day. You can’t put on a mediocre 3-hour show and expect people to stay.

It was interesting, though, that the first hour rating was the highest it was in a while so the audience was intrigued by something from TLC, like Balor or the aftermath of the TLC match. So, as proven several times, the audience is there for the shows and that audience will drop regardless (which is fine) but man...that drop...yikes.

They should have had the invasion at the beginning of the show and continued on. Writing the show around that would've also made for a fun and unique show, too.

Should have done Shield and AJ vs Miz and The Bar as the main event for hour 2. Hell, they should have added Finn and Kane to it to make it an 8 man tag. It would have kept people tuned in.

See, last week's thread was a wasteland because there was no "drop/dip/plunge/etc" in the title

I thought it was ok. Gotta agree on the lame invasion ending.
I also want to take the time to say that the 50/50 booking doesn't make sense. I don't want to see rematches unless there's an IMPORTANT reason for such. It used to be that a challenger would complain to the GM and plead and piss and moan until the GM gave in and made the match. Nowadays, they just come out like it's nothing, no hype, no reason. It's wasteful.

See, last week's thread was a wasteland because there was no "drop/dip/plunge/etc" in the title Last week the ratings weren't anything worth talking about; standard numbers, not a near-record low for the year, not a particularly high number, but also not an extreme dip from one hour to another; started at 2.73 and ended at 2.6, which is actually a pretty not-terrible drop. The show also wasn't really anything worth talking about either, just a pretty inoffensively nothing go-home show I can't even really remember too much from that would be worth saying "Well no wonder it's low, (X) happened". Only so many times you can come in just to say 'Yep, ratings are low, show's cold and nobody cares' withouout any specifics to talk about. But this week? Oh boy, this week had a Raw where a lot of shit happened, one very well received segment that got people talking, and one very hated segment that got people talking, where the show started off with a huge spike in interest and then managed to piss it away so hard they bled 400,000 viewers each hour. Here, there's numbers, there's segments to talk about, there's things to discuss. Of course threads are going to get more active when there's something tangible to post about.
