once the series ended?
I’m doing my yearly rewatch of Freaks & Geeks, and it got me thinking how so much of the cast went on to have success in Hollywood:
Linda Cardellini - Has been a steady working actress in both TV and movies. James Franco - An A-Lister who can pretty much pick any project he wants. Seth Rogen - Like him or not, one of the biggest comedy stars of his era. Jason Segel - Success as both an actor and writer. John Francis Daley - Becoming a sought after screenwriter. Wrote the latest Spider-Man movie. Martin Starr - Cast member of Silicon Valley. And one of the Apatow-Rogen regulars. Busy Philipps - While not as prominent as the others, still is a steady working actress.
And that’s just the regular cast. You also had Lizzy Caplan and Ben Foster playing recurring characters. What you guys got?

That's a really interesting question. Shows where the ensemble cast went on to individual success...
I never would have thought of Freaks and Geeks, but that's a great example. The only other show I can think of would be Friends, and even then not all of them made it.

Cheers has to be up there: Ted Danson, Kirstie Alley, Woody Harrelson, Kelsey Grammer, and John Ratzenberger all have had great careers.

At one point it felt like every comedy actor came from The Daily Show or The Office and they were in every studio comedy film. In terms of writers turned actors it has to be 30 Rock

Just heard a snippet about The Dana Carvey Show, which had writers like Steve Carrel, Stephen Colbert, Rob Smigel, Louie CK, and apparently many more.

Blackadder: Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, and Tony Robinson from the lead cast have all been extremely successful in multiple avenues, through acting, writing, and presenting.

The Larry Sanders Show
Other then the already famous Garry Shandling and Rip Torn. Several regular cast members went on to have successful careers including; Janeane Garofalo, Jeffery Tambor, Jeremy Piven, Mary Lynn Rasjkub, Penny Johnson, Bob Odenkirk and Sarah Silverman.

If we want to go broad on this topic: Saturday Night Live.
Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Robert Downey Jr, Ben Stiller, Jimmy Fallon, Billy Crystal, Chris Farley, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Dennis Miller, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Mike Meyers, Sarah Silverman, Damon Wayans...and those are just most of the ones I feel became legitimate A-listers. Then you have the ones that have done phenomenally well for shorter periods of time or just to a slightly lesser extent - both Belushis, Gotfried, Chevy, Hartman, Dana Carvy, Poehler, Aykroyd and several others.
I can see where some would disqualify it due to its different format, but I think it's worthy of consideration.

I came here to post Freaks and Geeks before I knew that was what the OP was talking about.
Does SNL count though?

What you guys got? First show I thought of when I saw the thread title. Same Levine has had a decent post F&G career ,usually playing a very similar character. Wasn't John Francis Daley on Bones for a bunch of seasons?
