If you want your blood to boil, Boston sports radio personality Michael Felger absolutely went off on Roy Halladay during his radio show on 98.5 The Sports Hub this afternoon. www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2017/11/08/michael-felger-roy-halladay-death-got-what-deserved/xWYAkKFce7Go7EEhIFl2fO/story.htmlThe audio is in the link. He says that Halladay "got what he deserved" for taking his plane on a "joyride." His rant also included repeated mocking of Halladay and the word "splat." Oh, and if you were wondering, he also said that he rooted "for the wall" in Dale Earnhardt's death. Saying "That ain’t no tragedy ... And then you crash into the wall? And I’m supposed to feel bad for you? Give me a break." F*** him I'm not giving him any traffic to get paid for stupid shit like that

This guy and I have something in common. I’m rooting for “the axe” in the death of his career.

Now, I absolutely don't care for the way he said it, and I do feel like he went over the line, but he's not wrong in the sense that it *was* stupid to be dicking around in an airplane doing all kinds of stunts when you're an amateur pilot at best and it's especially stupid to be doing that stuff with a wife and 2 kids at home. Did he deserve to die? f*** no. But calling him on wreckless behavior isn't the world's biggest crime.

It comes across as very vindictive and cold to a man that hasn't even been deceased 72 hours. So yes, he deserves to be fired for asinine lines like that There's better ways to shape your words in regards to saying it's a tragedy, maybe he should have had a more experience pilot with him, etc... but to say he "got what he deserved" is disgusting

Felger can be a dick, but he also has nothing in regards to a track record when it comes to incidents like that. He absolutely, positively SHOULD be punished via suspension and an on-air apology. I just stop short of firing him.

If he's a repeat offender like you said than being fired might be the only course of action but yes suspension is a must and no other way around it What would compel a man to say something like that is beyond me tho. I get saying outlandish shit is a good way to bring traffic over to your show but there has to be a line you won't cross as a person I assume

Why is it that Boston radio hosts always say the worst things? Stop making my hometown look bad.

Yeah you don't say "he got what he deserved". Look honestly I feel that people shouldn't be as ambitious with flying unless your a real pro. How many famous people have died while flying on single engine planes/piloting themselves? Halladay ,JFK JR, John Denver, Thurmun Munson, "The Day The Music Died" Corey Lidle. Having said that, these are still tragedies and you have to respect the mourners.

I just stop short of firing him. Not to turn this into a Michael Felger thread, but he's spent the last few years toeing right up to the line. Earlier this summer, he made waves when he claimed some forms of addiction are a weakness in the aftermath of Tiger Woods' DUI arrest. His exact words were "I think some addicts are just weak and I think some addiction is weak." Last winter, he got some heat when he took on Al Horford, arguing that Horford might not be tough enough because he opted to take paternity leave from the Celtics and spend the day with his wife and newborn child rather than play that night's game. In 2015, he blasted Curt Schilling after trolls took to Twitter to sexually harass Schilling's daughter, essentially saying cyber-bullying wasn't real bullying and the solution to the harassment is to just get off of social media. This was simmering and now it's boiled over. You could sense he was due for the kind of opinion that could lead to a suspension.

Does Michael Felger exist to make Craig Carton look classy by comparison? What a dirtbag.

Felger’s a professional troll, no surprise there.

I just share what I just wrote in the MLB thread:
I also agree with BRV, let's get back to focusing on Roy Halliday's life and career rather than Felger's rant.

At least Roy finished his career before his untimely death.
