Enjoyable run, more so than many other considered 'A' grade players. Should have gone down the baby face route.
Hopefully they will repackage him now as having proven himself to the fans, and the rest of the roster that anyone can make it if they believe in their own ability.

Of all the Canadian wrestlers on the Smackdown roster with Middle Eastern ancestry, he's certainly better than at least 2 of them.

First member of 3MB to win a WWE world title, got to appreciate that.
Also part of a very small number out of all the championships recognised by WWE to have only held the WWE title. Koloff, Stasiak, Graham, Jinder. Not counting Sid or Slaughter as they did hold the US title, albeit in WCW.

After all he's had to overcome, the negativity, the comments, he worked through it and did his thing the best he could given the hand that was given to him. At the end when he gave the title to Styles? His reaction says it all. No complaints, no whining, did the damn thing.

I mean, he gave it his all. No doubt about that. He got a chance and he made a legit effort to try to make something out of himself.
...It didn't work, obviously, but at least he tried. And in an era where belts mean about as much as a bowl of piss, he does feel like a bigger star after holding the belt than he ever did before it. Granted, that's like going from a -2 to a 3 but still.

He gave us an easy to reach analogy for whenever something that no one ever could’ve predicted happens.

All dishelved like a piece of his soul was taken from him.

My feelings on the reign aside, he's got some charisma.

He did his best with what he had to work with, and seems to have the kernel of a 'working class hero' vibe if they decided to go that route. Have him do a variant on Sgt Slaughter's "I want my country back" where he renounces his previous stance and wants to now embrace the fans and prove himself and you might have something.
If nothing else, dude gets to say he was champion for the rest of his days.

Well...errrr....He's of South Asian descent like me, I suppose...
That's about as much appreciation as I can come up with.
Hopefully someone more talented like Mustafa Ali gets a main event babyface run so I can get fully behind someone from a similar background as myself.

All dishelved like a piece of his soul was taken from him. I think he needs to go in as a tweener now. Just have him wanting to do things his way if not go face. I think he needs to be kept off of tv until The Rumble hits and enter the match as a tweener. Little by little see where it takes him. Hell even put him against Corbin or something who knows.
