Look I think its time that Sony really swing for the fences and make a buddy comedy with Paste Pot Pete and The Wall.

*SOny immediately green lights 3 more spider-villain movies for their spider-less-Man universe. *yet somehow a “Superior Foes” movie doesn’t happen* I would die a happy man if we got a Superior Foes adaptation. That series was gold.

I wonder what this means for the rumoured Sinister Six movie that was going to have Morbius, Vulture, etc in it. They tried to start the set up in Morbius but will it even happen now?

As long as they have Marvel making them money with the Spider-Man films and the success of the Venoms they will blow all that cash trying to prove they can turn shit into gold.

Given how Jeto was so committed to staying in character that he would take 45 minutes to use the bathroom due to using crutches and dragging himself there, I'm surprised no one went up and kicked him right in the ass to tell him to knock it off.

If I recall correctly Viola Davis's husband came really close to punching him in the face over his behavior on the set of Suicide Squad. But shit like that really does show how downright f***ing stupid method acting can be at times.

For real, you'd think someone would just remind him that actors are essentially playing make-believe for a living and he should cut the shit.

But look at the result. Leto pulling that crap for Morbius is like serving McDonalds on sterling silver.

So out of morbid curiosity I finally watched the movie. It's a mediocre paint by numbers superhero movie that would not have stood out in 2001 when those were much more common. It did the bare minimum to establish characters, their motivations and relationships. There were plenty of plot holes. That said, unlike some movies I've seen, I didn't hate it. It was just kinda there.
I still love the memes and dunking on Leto for being an asshat with his method bs though.

What's amazing is that a few years ago I recall watching clips of Morbius from the Spider-Man animated series; the one hungry for plasma and sounding like Tommy Wiseau and swearing there's no way any version of Morbius could be more unintentionally funny than this.
Leave it to Sony and Jared Leto to prove me wrong.

Leave it to Sony and Jared Leto to prove me wrong. Yeah, my main exposure to Morbius was the 90s animated series so that probably helped moderate my expectations (though the morbin memes certainly did too). It probably doesn't help that the scientist who messes with his genetics and it goes horribly wrong trope has been done better in multiple instances.
Then there was the fact that in the opening scene I was able to predict roughly 80% of the dialogue word for word, that's how bog standard it was.
