The potential was there, but tonight was huge for him. He just took control of the match and, not only with the big spots, but the little things he'd do in response of the crowd. The guy is a star.

If this dude doesn't get the Braun push, there's something seriously f***ing wrong.

Seems like every Takeover we have a star making performance from someone in Sanity these days. They're p good.

I popped for both staredowns with AOP. My god there’s some incredible big men in WWE at the moment.

Dain channeling Shane McMahon with the Coast-to-Coast was neat to see.

His struggle with the cage door was also really endearing.

He has great presence and the it factor.he outshines eric young so much in the sanity faction. I don't know how he does at promos which would be important on the main roster. But I can't wait for him to become a star on the main roster.

Sanity is the perfect example of how to use veteran Indy guys in NXT. Eric Young has so much experience and versatility, I bet Dain and Wonfgang have been able to learn SO much from working with him.

It doesn't seem like the shoe would normally fit like this , but I think Vince must really like him. Dain has had a lot of shine that no one really could have expected thus far in his run.
He was the NXT representative in the Andre Battle Royal after a somewhat nondescript start to his NXT run, and seemed like he was going to win it at certain points.
Then last night, he had the whole character making "swallow the key" moment, along with the fact that for long stretches of the match, production had the camera basically glued to him. He also had probably the most memorable individual offensive moment of the match in the ridiculous coast to coast.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see it, but it just seems so pleasantly surprising that he's getting this shine. Of course, Hunter's running NXT, but I have a suspicion that Vince somehow caught wind of Dain and has invested in him to the point that he wants him showcased. Maybe with Dain's look, he strikes that perfect balance of "larger than life" attraction and dynamite worker for him.
Either way, I'm excited for his future prospects.

Agreed, I think Wolfe is picking up a lot of fans after his performance here and in the match where they won the tag titles.

Watching NXT since the inception has been a treat. Sometimes you'll watch each episode and randomly start noticing patterns eventually. I've seen Andrade Cien Almas literally steal the show every main event NXT match he's had, despite the goofy Party Boy gimmick he was sidled with and his weak promo. Every match I've said to myself "damn, that boy can wrestle" and THAT's ultimately what sold me and the rest of Houston when he won the NXT title.
Killian Dain is exactly the same pattern. Every match I've seen him in he's stolen the show for that match. There were three other teams in the War Games but Dain was the architect of it, and compared to his previous matches against Drew Mack and Aleister Black it was more of the same awesomeness. He brings the eventual winner of the match (Drew, Aleister, Undisputed Era) to the limit with his incredible offense and sells the hell outta the match's importance. Then when the crowd is at it's limit the winner has to win by the skin of their teeth, which is the only way to buy losing to Killian Dain.
I actually don't think Dain has won any big singles matches, but goddamn if he's not an unstoppable beast still somehow. That pattern is pretty much the ultimate booking technique and NXT is one of the only places where that works for people like Dain and Cien Almas (who also has lost more matches than he's won).
