Has there ever been a more obvious instance of Vince speaking directly through someone than Byron Saxton screaming "WE'RE NOT IN JAPAN!" because someone dared to talk up Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura during a match that had Jawn Cena and Randy Orton?
I can't really think of any.

This would be a good name for an experimental electronic band.

"Shin." Cole said that so many times that it had to be a McMahon call. Couldn't it be just what they call him backstage? Like how it seems everybody calls Alicia Fox "Foxy" half the time.

You don't randomly try to get a nickname over that many times without it being a Vince call. That's a marketing tactic.

My favorite part of all that:
(Crowd chants "NXT")
"You can hear the crowd here chanting NXT!"
(Crowd IMMEDIATELY starts chanting "New Japan")

Corey: Shut up Phillips Byron: But I’m Saxton Corey got Byron with such a good burn that even Cole couldn’t control his laughter

He's not bad as the third man who makes small comments and gets shit on for them. It helps Graves is so good. Byron also had a great line after Booker T started talking shit for the 50th time: "At least when I speak I make sense". I thought the commentary team in general had a lot of energy and was pretty good last night. Also I completely missed that whole interaction and would love to see it. Do you remember when it happened?

I think Byron was trying to keep up with everyone else but he just got grounded every time.
When he was yelling that the ref took the chair from Shane and Cole said “it’s an illegal weapon, Byron! You want him to be disqualified?” And Byron whinged “well, get a chain or something, it’s three on one.”
And then he tried to cut some tough guy line about survival or something and Booker said “That’s how you can tell you’ve never been in a fight in your life.”

Because even without JBL around to threaten to brutally murder him every show, he's still getting mercilessly shat upon.

Do you remember when it happened? Byron has grown on Smackdown and he has gotten some praise for it. As compared to before when he was just a 3rd man to get shitted on anytime he opens his mouth, now he still gets his dweebish lines but he also adds insight. Smackdown was probably the best move for him because he will still get shut down by JBL (now Corey) but he's actually allowed to talk and show more personality and even dig back at people when they come for him Also yeah that interaction is right at the start of Roodes entrance.

I've never seen someone fight so hard against his own finisher.
