It might get you a decent boost in NXT these days.

I'd say the last person who it did anything for was Austin Aries, and since then nobody has really been done any favours by having the belt. Even in the case of a great champion like Lashley, he's more doing the belt the favour than vice-versa.

Not at all. Nothing in TNA matters anymore.

Maybe 5-10 years ago, now it doesn't mean a damn thing.

Depends on how you look at it, I guess. It's better than nothing, but I'd rather have literally any title in WWE, the ROH title, or a few other accolades.

On par with present-day NWA....unfortunately When Uncle Grandpa Tim Storm is a more respected and better drawing champion then it's time to burn the place down.

I'd almost say that given it's legacy and root of the program during the glory days of TNA, that the X Division belt is more important and prestigious than the top belt. But I agree with you, definitely behind the ROH title, probably behind the PWG title, maybe on an even playing field with the Lucha Underground belt if only because it hasn't been around that long. Obviously that's just in the US, NJPW belts and honors are ahead of it, maybe AAA as well, and of course all WWE belts.

Is getting the shits from eating a 711 Hot Dog prestigious? I'm sure Abyss can't afford it anymore.

Jimbo's extension cord that he uses for a belt that Bart was ragging on is more prestigious than the TNAGFWIMPACT belt

No.
A NWA title reign means nothing now, but if you're talking about it until, being generous, the early 90s, having had a reign thenot would even now carry prestige.
TNA has managed, as with everything they do, to somehow retroactively nuke any prestige. The period things mattered and counted 05-08 ish? Means nothing now either.
Guys are picked up for their work and talent, not their title history. Eric Young would have gone to NXT had he been booked as bootleg Bryan or not.

It's almost a moot point because WWE has signed about every former TNA champion worth doing business with. The only free agents not to make some form of WWE appearance (this includes guys like Bully Ray and the undefeated NXT star James Storm) since becoming TNAGFW Impact Global World champion are Mr. Anderson, Chris Sabin, and Magnus. Adding the NWA title from the TNA era only adds Raven and Jeff Jarrett to the list. All other former Impact champions have either made a WWE appearance or are currently signed with Impact.

Anyone heard anything about why Magnus hasn’t gotten a shot in NXT? Seems like something that would have happened by now.
