The Balor match is so odd in retrospect. Styles himself has gone on to WWE title glory since then, but Balor himself has just been totally crapped on. Squashed by Kane, did little at Survivor Series, and Joe soundly defeated him. Whenever there's a draft they desperately need to move Balor to SD where he has some guys to actually mix it up against. On Raw he's a 190 lb. dude in the land of big scary men like Strowman, Lesnar, Kane, etc. Balor on SD? Styles, Nakamura, Zayn, even reigniting his NXT feud with Owens. Trade Balor for Corbin. That Balor match is out of place (in WWE's eyes) because a great match like that was never supposed to happen. The plan all along was to continue crapping on Balor had Wyatt not fallen ill. I honestly do believe that they wanted to continue deteriorating Balor to the point of fans being apathetic towards him. But now he has this accidental MOTY under his belt and he has the support of the fans and they're buying into his cause, sort of like Daniel Bryan in 2013. I don't necessarily think he's on the level of Bryan or Styles but he is definitely a huge fan favorite who deserves....well, the treatment that Styles has rightfully gotten.

How crazy is it that AJ may well have had a mediocre year compared to his 2016? AJ Styles in 2016 was a banner year where AJ was voted by about 80% of the board to be the WWE male wrestler of the year. AJ Styles in 2017 is still probably male wrestler of the year, but perhaps not winning by as much.

I racked my brain a little bit on this one, and came up with Strowman, Joe, Miz, Neville, Owens, and possibly Nakamura. That list being from most likely to least likely.

I’d put Mia ahead of Joe after Monday, he managed to lose his belt to Roman and come out of the match looking BETTER than he went in, since they made him look like he was equal with the golden boy chosen one and the commentators gave him his due.

You could pick either the Balor, Cena or Brock match and not be wrong IMO, but the Cena match had more drama and intensity, so that's my pick. And I'm not taking into account the title on the line or the crowd. AJ and John just have insane chemistry together.
So far as WWE Male Wrestler of the Year, it's a race between AJ and Braun.
