711M at the box office so far. Dinos = Dollars. Safe to say Chris Pratt has this year's highest cumulative box office earnings sewn up. Worldwide? Most likely. Domestically?

If you can't make a great movie, at least make a component one. Which I think they did, since stuff worked together and with pay offs with this film (unlike bay).
In the hands of a better writer/director team, the moral dilemmas of keeping the dinosaurs alive and cloning humans could have been better explored. Maybe even gotten us an amazing film. But what we got wasn't the worst thing. I'm just imaging how much they could have done.
I at least liked the subplot of Blue and Owen. And I was a little sad seeing the brachiosaur that was left on the harbor as the island got destroyed.

Definately needs to be Jurassic War. Nah, needs to keep the geographical theme. First 'Park' then "World" and then Jurassic Universe

Definately needs to be Jurassic War. If not, it should be called Jurassic City where the dinosaurs take over San Diego, declare it to be their own fiefdom, and govern it surprisingly well. Make it in the style of Dino Riders and they'll actually have my interest again . Lol

Not Jurassic War.
Jurassic World War.
Now that’ll probably be the next title.

Saw it over the weekend, liked it better than the last one, but the characters had completely whack motivations compared to the previous movie, the new good guy characters were annoying right off the bat and I wanted them to get eaten asap, and the ending was dumb despite the cool visuals.
To be fair, I really didn't like the last one.

So..back from spending the weekend with my Gf, including seeing this, and wanted to put out some thoughts about it.
I had lowered my expectations because of reviews..but it was way worse than I thought it possibly could be. JW was shallow as f*** but I do think the concept of the park coming into fruition was a smart and successful way to bring the franchise back. It's hard not to compare Force Awakens and JW as these nostalgic-fueled vehicles that reinvigorated the series and were entertaining to say the least (...and I don't dare compare TLJ with FK because despite any issue I have with TLJ, it's leagues better a film than FK at any point of its run time....) and both kinda opened up a canvas for exciting sequel possibilities and I feel both franchises took a hard left with the sequels and at this point I'm like "End it. End it, and pray it goes out with a bang."
- There's a lot. A lot. A lot of stupid moments in this film. I know it's..a movie about dinosaurs but it's filled with stupidity that just doesn't ground the film at all and makes it hard to care about: The guy at the beginning spending an eternity not "hearing" what the Helicopter pilots were saying. Oh man. You're in an abandoned island filled with dinosaurs and are illegally sneaking in due to the danger of it all and as your pilots are yelling at you in hysteria...yea. Just..just stand there exclaiming ya can't hear them instead of running to them. Or scared kid on the island who's made out to be scared of his own damn shadow..yet he has a lil tug of war with that one Dino in the tunnel with the chair? And yeah you could say adrenaline but..no..man. Cmon. Ninja T-Rex..stealthily sneaking in to save Pratt. The entire dumb nature of where the Dino's were kept in the third act and flimsy nature of keeping scope of their size. Idiot dude and the indoraptor...I mean, f***, man. you can go on and on.
- the girl and her story. Why. Why. Seriously, why? To keep the trope of old dude and stooges taking advantage of his wealth? Why man, why? For what she does at the end?? Same thing could of occurred without voluntary action which was still beyond ludicrous on her part. I haven't been tempted to yell out "Oh Cmon" in theaters since, maybe, ever.
- graphics sucked man. Blue and the T-Rex look good. Indoraptor is here and there..and every other dinosaur just looks poor.
- BDH's character. I just feel..it went to a waste. Does not feel at all like the girl from JW (even despite the disaster that occurred in the first one) except maybe for one scene when she laments over her accountability over everything.
- That "heartbreaking moment" when they're leaving the island? Oh cmon. Maybe at first but absolutely ruined with the comical nature of it standing up on its hind legs to throwback to JP..it's just funny. I also laughed out loud out the Dino's being flown out to the boat. Just a funny visual. And my Gf cackled at Blue leaping heroically out of the explosion at the mansion.
- The end with Blue and Pratt..is basically the same end as JW. Fallen kingdom does a lot of throwbacks to Jurassic World, which in itself consists of a backbone throwing back a lot to the original trilogy. There's..something wrong and problematic with that formula.
- Ian Malcolm. I get and had heard Goldblum was basically a cameo but at least utilize him better. Even in that short time rather than getting straight to him talking. What about younger fans who might not even know who the f*** his character is?? Even if it was simply him arriving at the hearing with a tolken "Ian-Why-The-f***-am-I-still-here" moment.
- Bayona does not get dramatic beats. There's nothing in this film that stands out. Not even the suspenseful moments which is what he was being hyped about. I wouldn't say the story drags..pacing is what it is..but nothing feels important.
- Speaking of the story: I feel we all knew this was moreless where the sequel was gonna go "Getting the Dino's out/engineering them/selling them/weaponizing them" but I feel there would of been a lot better ways to excecute it. It feels like a story a child wrote: "SO..there's a volcano! And the Dino's are dying! And Owen goes back to save his dinosaur! And they get double-crossed! And the Dino's go to a mansion! But Owen and ALL his friends have snuck in! And the Indoraptor and Blue fight at the end!" I feel..we could of done this all a million ways more interesting than what we got.
- The one good thing about the story is it seems inevitable there will be some finality with the next installment but I'm even worried about what the f*** they're gonna try and do with that one too. Considering the state in which this movie ends...could probably easily be solved with a few apache helicopters but I expect A WHOLE LOT more stupidity with the next one. Probably some MORE engineered Dino's, why the f*** not.
What I kept wondering was "Is this worse than JPIII?" while watching it. Wasn't sure, TBH during it.
I will say they should count their lucky stars they cast Pratt because the man is about the only thing enjoyable in this flick. Chris is bulletproof man, put him in pieces of shit like this and Passengers and he's still entertaining.
But yeah. This was worse than JPIII. Which is saying a lot. And somehow wasn't better than JW..which again is saying a lot.
And I gotta say I have some major nerd friends on my Facebook getting upset because "Like Star Wars, the JP fandom has become toxic and is filled with HATERZ"...Ya know, you don't have to be an ideologue. I've loved Jurassic Park since I was a kid and it didn't make me think JPIII was a good flick despite being a kid. It didn't force me to give JW more credit as a film other than being an entertaining nostalgic cash-grab. I was hyped for Fallen Kingdom, but it's just a sucky film. Sometimes a piece of shit is just a piece of shit.

Since raptors are pack animals (but Blue is alone), she should lead a pack of wolves. She kills the alpha and takes over. And also, Blue should learn how to use a gun. She's got fingers and is smart.
