Let's decide WWE's person of the year, but use the same criteria as Time magazine's person of the year. For those who don't know, Time doesn't base its recipient on his or her accomplishments; it's more about who's talked about and makes the most headlines. Or, as Time explains, “the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or ill, and embodied what was important about the year.”
So with that, let us know who you think is WWE's person of the year. I highly suspect one person may win this in a landslide.

Dammit, I was supposed to include Braun Strowman. But more as a formality, since I don't really expect him to win. But he definitely played a pivotal role in 2017

Makes the most headlines and who is most talked about?
John Cena, from the proposal to Nikki, to his acting career catching fire (like getting the role in Bumblebee), to narrating the World Series openings on Fox, he's gotten the most mainstream publicity.

Most headlines?
...Well shit, kinda has to be Jinder, right? Cena made headlines as well but it was always for stuff he's doing outside of WWE.

Jinder definitely wins this. In one topic I brought up the fact that he's been talked about the most and people didn't deny it, they just said "well but it's for bad reasons so-" so yeah, Jinder.

Jinder is the most logical choice I think, but I feel like you could make a decent argument for Kevin Owens - guy has pinballed up and down the card all year long and always been involved in something or other with something to talk about. Jinder at least pretty much fell into a holding pattern after awhile but basically every month this year Owens has been doing something wildly different.

I'm not a fan of his, at all, but 2017 is the year of Jinder, for good or bad. Mostly bad.

Wow. A thread about Jinder that is overwhelming and not negative. All hail Jinder! Yeah, but... isn't it negative? Again, "Person of the Year" isn't like "Wrestler of the Year" or whatever. It's about impact, positive OR negative, and considering that most of Jinder's impact is wrapped up in the question of "Why did this jobber become champion? Why this experiment? Well, it's because of the India tour, or because he's on the juice", etc.... It's...hard to paint a smiley face on that.

It's gotta be the living legend himself, Jinder Mayhall, followed by Kurt Angle.

Jinder but Miz should be simply for the fact that in a time where everyone is blaming guys for assaulting women he would kill for his wife

Yeah, Hitler has been named in that role before, and Time wasn't really trying to be positive in doing that. Jinder is the year's biggest story but for a lot of people that's a huge negative.
