I went to the RAW house show in Toronto last night and it was generally a good show. Elias’s schtick is outstanding, Rollins/Jordan vs. The Bar was great and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Tony Snell were sitting near me.
The main event was Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe. Maybe five minutes in, Reigns whipped Joe into the steps on the outside and Joe started to bleed badly. Jamie Noble and a medical guy came out and they stopped the match to clean him up.
So the medical guy finished looking at him and Joe was good to go, but almost immediately afterwards the ref called for the bell. Both Joe and Roman looked pissed and appeared to call an audible to do a quick spot in the ring afterwards where Roman hit the Superman Punch to send the crowd home happy, but they were not.
It didn’t appear to be serious, so I don’t think it will have any repercussions going forward, but if anything changes in regards to their match tomorrow night, you now know why.

Yikes. I would hope they would have at least had Cesaro or somebody run out there to do a quick make-good match.

I swear it feels like a swift wind is enough to bust Joe open. Dude bleeds constantly.

It would have been nice to send a replacement out or something but honestly if WWE is going to be super safety-conscious, better to do it in a nothing house show match and keep guys safe than to do it on a PPV main event?

Cornettes very upset on twitter about this. Sure I could link, but it's the standard back in my day thing.

I'd guess that the match on Raw is why they stopped this one. That's an important match so they need to make sure Joe can go. No reason to have him make the cut worse wrestling the match.

Joe and Alexa are both trying to take Flair's title.

Based on things the Young Bucks have said about meeting Cornette I'm tempted to say it's more likely the latter and that he's keeping his gimmick alive.

I feel like Joe's going to have to choke a bitch. Can't say I blame Joe, that doesn't look bad enough to stop a match

I was actually thinking of getting tickets for that show but I couldn't be sure of my holiday plans in time.

I feel like Joe's going to have to choke a bitch. Can't say I blame Joe, that doesn't look bad enough to stop a match that picture is from NXT Takeover in Dallas, Texas... as the stage says, not a Canadian House show. I wonder a little if he seriously doesn't get WWE's stance on it, or if he knows his bread is buttered by the people who live and breathe "sports entertainment sux!" and he plays to them. Based on things the Young Bucks have said about meeting Cornette I'm tempted to say it's more likely the latter and that he's keeping his gimmick alive. my guess is a little of column A and a little of column B. He is absolutely stuck in the past in terms of booking philosophy... but at the same time Corney is a massive Carny and basically the only people he won't bad mouth are whoever is paying him this week.

The guy had the Cornette face in his TNA Titantron. I think it's at the very least a combination of equal measures of both.

Good. For the safety and health of competitors I'm glad they do this, and it fits with the presentation as a legit sport.
