Amazing how fast those two faded from the conversation, isn’t it? For my part I think the roster is so packed already that the best thing would be to let Mike finish out his rehab and then quietly not renew with them. And if not that, then send them to NXT rather than bring them back to the main roster. But since I doubt either will happen, what would be the best thing for them since Ziegler has now turned heel? I think a mid card program with Bobby Roode would be the best option. If not that, then turn Rusev face and have him and Lana face off against the Kannelis’. Alternatively, have them be a short lived tag team that leads to a break followed by a program against each other. I could also see a team with Ziegler as a possibility-provided he is still around. Any other thoughts?

I said this when they debuted and will say it again now, idk why people thought they were going to get this big push because they bypassed NXT. They didn't go to NXT because they had nothing to offer NXT. They both really are on the roster as warm bodies unless someone in creative is in love with them
At this point upon their return I would tag Mike with someone. Who that would be, I have no clue but you got a lot of guys doing nothing who could be attached loosely on to their gimmick as either wanting to learn to love like Mike and Maria or looks up to them

the main reason he faded so quickly was A. he went to rehab like immediately, B. he was never pegged for a really huge push to begin with, he was just there to be a midcard body mostly... and Then Maria who the entire gimmick pretty much hinges on got pregnant, so there really isn't much for him to do. Maybe he could pull off the overly enthusiastic dad when he gets back  |

I wouldn't be surprised if they never came back as it wasn't like they were exactly doing much with them even before Maria got pregnant. They clearly don't think much of Mike at all as he was doing jobs regularly within a month after his debut. Even the Tyler Breeze's and Bo Dallas' would get a half assed a push for a couple of months after their debut before they got stuck on job duty, but he didn't even get that.

Mike & Maria got all the benefits out of this. They sign, then almost immediately he goes to rehab & she gets pregnant while getting a wwe paycheque. (Which I'm not hating, if it was deliberate. With the independent contractor stuff & way WWE pay people, how often do employees get to game the system?)
