This isn't really relating to the Balor match but more as a grand scheme of things.
I've always disliked Cena. Never liked him a bit but appreciated what he does outside of the ring. He's probably a great guy, I don't know him.
But f***, when is enough enough? The guy has been involved with more stop start booking matches than a damn nascar race. The guy doesn't go over as much as he used to but it's just soured me on him permanently.
A lot of people tend to say that the fans will miss him when he is no longer on the shows..
Is this bullshit? I can't see it. Or him apparently.

I'm sure there are people who will but I won't. Even when he's gone nowadays I never find myself thinking, "Man, I can't wait until Cena comes back," or, "Man, I wanna see that guy in a match with Cena."

I’ve been a Cena fan since his rap days. I will definetly miss him when he is gone. I would like to see the Taker match, Joe match and even though there is a slim chance, the heel turn as well before he retire

I won't miss him, he's one of the most consistently frustrating wrestlers to watch I've ever seen.

No, I will be celebrating his final appearance because it'll be the last time he ruins a show.

I will for sure. I always miss guys that were big parts of the show for a long time and I genuinely like Cena a lot. So sure, yeah.

He's divisive so I know some won't. I will. I've been watching wrestling for virtually all my 33 years and after Piper, Cena is my all time favourite guy. His consistency of performance, his workload outside the ring, his PR skills, his position as a role model, he is pretty much immaculate to me. Only he, Miz and Hunter are still active off my all time favourites list and he and Hunter are/have downsized their time on screen, so yeah, I'll be gutted when he goes.

Perversely, I think yes. People seem to warm to Cena more the less they see of him. (Which in an alternative character interpretation makes all that 'u can't c me' stuff a desperate cry for love & validation on his part.)

I won't miss him, he's one of the most consistently frustrating wrestlers to watch I've ever seen. You probably get it as much as anyone, being a fellow Christian megafan. Him going over Christian/Jericho at Vengeance when Christian didn't win the title really solified my dislike. Never gotten over that.

Yes. It always happens. It won't be immediate but 4 or 5 years after he retires or get on that Taker schedule he'll be missed and welcomed back.
Obviously it won't be everyone but I firmly believe the majority will.

Cena can be a legitimately compelling performer but there seems to be at least one instance a year, if not more, where something involving him makes me wonder why I bother watching WWE. So no.

I've liked the bulk of his work, but since 2015 he's been super consistent and excellent, so I'll miss this latest incarnation of Cena just like how I miss spotlight Batista and Hollywood Rock.

I miss him already. Not sure who this robot is that's been showing up to work the last year and a half.

I'll still be able to enjoy him in movies and TV where his character(s) are probably handled well.

I already do. As much as I hate his booking, his matches and promos always delivered from 2011 onward.

I'll miss Cena but I won't miss the bad shit revolving around his character such as beating all these other superstars, burying dudes in promos and the dumb decisions that happen with him in general.
The man put over Del Rio clean and yet his ass couldn't put over Balor tonight. Shit that makes no sense like that is why I'm not gonna be too stressed out.

Sorry to break it to some of you but when John Cena the man is gone, 'John Cena' (as in, Vince McMahon's idea of a what top star should be and how he should be booked) is gonna still be here, most likely in the form of Roman Reigns. I'll miss Cena, he is a talented guy, I won't miss much of Vince McMahon's booking of John Cena.

Cena as a pro wrestler is excellent. Cena as a character in a wrestling story is toxic.
