Yes, I actually for a second before today's Panthers-Giants game believed that maybe Chris Weinke wasnt as bad as I remembered.
I was wrong.
He's still the college superstar who isn't an NFL quarterback, yet is somehow still on an NFL team. Just the guy I remembered from his rookie year where he went 1-15.
Yes, he threw for over 400 yards today, but he also threw over 60(!) passes because of the Panthers complete lack of competent running backs. Only 1 touchdown to go along with 3 interceptions.
So, thank you Mr. Weinke, because of you, my Panthers will more than likely be sitting at home come January.
Maybe this will be the offseason that we FINALLY let the huger go. He's a joke, always has been, but the laughs end when playoff spots are at stake.
Speaking of those running backs, am I the only one who wonders why two back up/change of pace guys are the two guys competeting to start? Mission for offseason......TE(as always, but never gets addressed) and a STARTING running back.

Delholmme hasn't done much better. He's gave away 5 or 6 games in the final quarter of the game.
But I agree, he sucks and has no business starting for an NFL team.

But if Delhomme was out there I believe he could have beaten the Giants, who are missing quite a few starters on defense and a few are just coming back and are still not 100%

I just hate Chris Weinke 'cause I hate all guys who are "rookies" after they hit 30.

I just hope the Panthers eventually name him team captain 'cause of all the great "Captain Weinke" jokes that would follow.

As a Giants fan, I fully stand behind Weinke's performance today.
Seriously, though, my condolences. I remember a few seasons back when the Giants had Jesse "The Bachelor" Palmer starting for them after Kerry Collins went down.....
To put it in perspective, he couldn't even get a starting job with the CFL after the Giants finally got rid of him. The best he got was a developmental deal with Toronto.....
And he was on "The Bachelor"......

He's a broadcaster for FOX now, (Palmer) he did my local game today. Oh, and heaping abuse on the backup QB, when your team was mediocore at best coming into the game seems a bit irrational. Weinke isn't NFL starter material, but neither are most backups.

Wait..it's Weinke's fault we arent going to the playoffs?
I think possibly Doug Henning..a crappy offensive line..a crappy starting QB..a shoddy linebacker corps..an injury plagued secondary..and inneffective running game...a defensive line and reciever corp that has had its moments but are way too inconsistent have more to do with it then the back up sucking in one game.

With this one game though, we were right there in the mix.
