49ers better hope Jimmy doesn't go full Osweiller. That contract is stupid. Lock him up sure, but he hasn't won shit yet.
I think Jimmy G is going to easily wind up a top 10 QB in the league and honestly that's the money they get. Cousins will get more, Rodgers will get more and it's just going to escalate as the league keeps adjusting and changing rules to make this a pass dominant league.
Jimmy G is young, has at the very least proven he's capable of carrying a pretty weak offense and this is the contract they're going to get.
Hell in 4-5 years when Wentz and Goff are up and it's time for Jimmy to resign this is going to look like a bargain.
Sure he could. He could also completely flame out. Time will tell. He hasn't even started a full season yet. I'm not saying he will crash down, but giving that kind of money to a guy without even double digit starts is nuts.

Eh, I'm not really upset by this move, by all accounts many expect him to be a head coach in like a year, Minnesota I guess took that 38-7 spanking to heart though.

I think he'll be good, but it's also important to remember that defenses figure out most QBs sooner or later. (See: Kapernick, Colin)

Will he flame out? Possibly. But he has far more "Brady" going for him than Kap as far as being an actual traditional QB.

He threw 5 TDs and 6 picks against teams with combined a losing record (39-41) Im merely saying that he's going to be interesting to watch over 16 games, with plenty of film on him now out there

JimmyG's first year cap hit is something absurd like 37 million dollars.
With that taken into account, the 49ers have "only" 60 million dollars in cap space remaining. Enough for 3rd highest in the league.
I guess Trent Baalke being a cheap incompetent fool had its benefits... eventually

And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy bigger douche. If you ever want to know which reporters to trust and which ones are hacks, look no further than social media or sports talk radio to determine who is criticizing Ron Borges compared to the ones criticizing the kid who punked him. The ones who criticize Borges can be trusted, because it shows they don't rely on one questionable source to get their information. The ones criticizing the kid, meanwhile, should be looked at a little more closely because it shows they might be the kind of reporters who rely on a single source for iffy information, simply in the race to be first and get clicks or page views rather than trying to be right.

People’s won’t be saying sf overpriced jimmy g when he takes them to the super bowl next season! I'll even take two years. JimmyG makes the playoffs next season, loses to an experienced team.. (Thom Brady then wins the Suoer Bowl) The season after the Niners make the Super Bowl, and JimmyG beats Thom Brady. Brady then hands Jimmy a literal torch on the field when they embrace following the game, and rides a unicorn into the sunset. He looks back, tips his cap with a single tear in his eye and he is never seen again. Jimmy G is now the Thom Brady of this post-Brady era.

I'm still not too bothered by it, fill the holes and keep going. Doug mainly called the plays in Philly, offense will remain relatively the same I feel. But The Colts needed a win in the worst way...

Eagles OC Frank Reich is becoming the favorite to be the Colts new head coach EDIT: It's been done I actually did not expect this to be done until Tuesday. Most of the team, including management, owner, and staff are going to Atlanta for Edwin Jackson's funeral tomorrow and that seemed to be the focus today.

Reuben Foster already going the way of Aldon Smith, getting arrested for the second time this offseason. First for pot (who cares) and now charges related to domestic violence.
