They should turn away anyone who shows up wearing a Bullet Club t-shirt.

The original us dojo was a clusterf***. They made them compete in mma fights were they got their asses kicked.

They should turn away anyone who shows up wearing a Bullet Club t-shirt. States that guys must be in excellent condition and have athletic background. So guys you'd see in schools like OVW won't be there

Looks like a very no-nonsense kind of crash course rather than a proper long-term dojo set up, which is good for a multitude of reasons. Last thing they need is to open up just another wrestling school. I imagine if anyone really impresses here hard enough for New Japan to want them that they'll be told to pack up and go overseas.

Yep. That's how Karl Arnderson and Devitt got into New Japan.

They'll probably open with having everyone do an absurd amount of squats, which should eliminate anyone who isn't already in great shape.

It's definitely a pretty cool idea. Cover all the basics, athletic gut check, and all within 5 days. My buddy's son has been wanting to get into wrestling forever, and this seems like the perfect way to get a headstart before committing to a 2-3 month school.

Also 500 smackaroos sounds insanely cheap for a world class program like this.

I think the plan for the first camp session is to have whoever they deem the most impressive to appear at Strong Style Evolved as a new Dojo trainee

The demand on the athletics in particular is where I think that comes in most of all; they're looking for people who have involvement in something that would demand physical fitness to be involved in right then and there. Nobody's playing pro football being an out of shape nothing, even if their body isn't cut. Same way WWE fields tryout participants from outside of the wrestling world by looking for people involved in sports, martial arts, and powerlifting.

Ah the old tried and true pro wrestling scam of having a big time promotion run a camp where guys pay to get their asses kicked and cardio’d until they completely gas out. Well played, New Japan.

I would think they'd mostly be looking for martial artists and gymnasts. Skinny, flexible types. Mass is probably a negative.

They definitely want people who can go and who can move, but Japan loves its hoss gaijin. Mass isn't a factor like it's a factor to Vince, but historically speaking big American dudes have always been very welcome.
